Chapter 121 - Looking out of the hospital room window

Amelia's reaction surprised Ivan Petrov. According to his understanding, this pet should have fiercely protested, even causing a scene in the hospital regardless of the situation! But she didn't. Such extreme sadness and concern couldn't be faked. Could it be that this pet really cared about Tyler Davis?

Ivan Petrov had a naturally good temper and could speak gently even to those he didn't like. But as Tyler Davis's friend, he was one of the few who knew how Tyler Davis treated Amelia - with an inexplicable level of care that others couldn't understand. That was precisely why, despite his good temper, he couldn't tolerate how he always treated Amelia poorly.

Now, seeing Amelia's dazed and sad appearance, Ivan Petrov felt a twinge of pity and turned his head away. After giving some instructions to Jacob Anderson, he went to rest. Eight hours of concentrated surgery required him to take a break.

With Ivan Petrov gone, Jacob Anderson could finally relax and make arrangements for the next steps. Tyler Davis had been transferred to the intensive care unit, and for the time being, no one had time to care for Amelia.

Amelia was like a zombie walking to the door of the intensive care unit and then squatting down, hugging her legs. When Jacob Anderson finished with Tyler Davis's security and everything else, he discovered that Amelia was still squatting outside the ward with no noticeable presence, like a broken doll.

"Miss Amelia, you should go back and rest. There's nothing you can do by staying here!" Jacob Anderson said with a complicated expression.

Amelia shook her head and didn't speak, just facing the ward, foolishly squatting.

Jacob Anderson didn't try to persuade her further since she didn't listen. He couldn't just tie her up and take her away. Besides, the general was injured, and he had a lot to do. Jacob Anderson wasn't Tyler Davis; he only dealt with official business and didn't care about Amelia's pitiful and helpless situation.

Amelia was brought here by Jacob Anderson, and although no one paid her any attention, no one drove her away either.

Amelia squatted at the door of the intensive care unit all night, and no one knew what she was thinking.

The next morning, the curtains in the ICU opened and Amelia suddenly snapped out of her daze, wanting to go to the window to take a look. But as soon as she moved, she fell to the ground. She had been squatting all night and her knees were as painful as being pricked by needles. She couldn't even stand up.

Amelia was anxious and regretted why she had squatted instead of sitting last night. She hoped she could see Tyler Davis from the window now that the curtains were open. She quickly tried to move her legs, ignoring the pain in her knees, hoping to stand up soon.

The stabbing pain in her knees lessened a bit and her numb legs could move a little. Amelia crawled to the window using both her hands and feet. She was so proud, crawling in public like this!

But at this moment, she forgot her pride. She hastily crawled to the window and put both hands on it, pressing her face against the glass. Perhaps from inside the ward, Amelia's face would look ugly and distorted by the glass!

But she wanted to see Tyler Davis more clearly, she wanted to get closer. This man, who was as strong as if he would never fall, had a pale face with tubes and needles all over his body. He had an oxygen mask on his face, which was covered with a faint mist of breath.

Amelia's eyes, which had been red all night, immediately filled with tears. She quickly wiped them away, afraid that her tears would blur her vision and she wouldn't be able to see this man lying on the hospital bed.

"Swish!" The curtains closed again.

Amelia opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Anyway, she had seen him. She felt weak and sat down on the ground.

She covered her face with both hands, tears dropping one by one to the ground. For a long time, she wiped away her tears with her sleeve, blinking hard as if she didn't want anyone to see that she had cried.

But at this moment, Amelia didn't know that Ivan Petrov was nearby, observing her every move.

She felt that she couldn't continue like this. She couldn't be disheartened. Tyler Davis was still in a coma. If he woke up and saw her like this, he would be angry. She had to pull herself together.

So, Amelia asked Jacob Anderson to arrange a room for her as well. The VIP ward in Ivan Hospital was luxurious, with all the necessary equipment and daily necessities. Everything was new. After cleaning herself up, Amelia didn't have any clean clothes to change into, so she put on a hospital gown.

After tidying herself up, she ate a little and even forced herself to sleep for two hours before returning to the window of the intensive care unit.

Then, to her delight, she found that the curtains in the ICU had been opened. She hurried over and stood tightly against the window.

The breath she exhaled made the glass foggy, so Amelia rolled up her sleeves and hurriedly wiped it clean. She didn't want to take her eyes off the window for a moment, afraid that if she blinked, the curtain would be drawn again.

Amelia stayed by the window for a long, long time. No nurse came to close the curtain in the ICU, and even when one went in to change the medication, they smiled at her.

The window remained open for the next two days. Every time Amelia sat in front of it, she felt as if she had come alive.

One day, Ivan Petrov appeared in front of Amelia, his usually gentle face looking somewhat somber.

Upon seeing Ivan Petrov, Amelia became flustered and asked anxiously, "What happened? Is Tyler Davis okay?"

Ivan Petrov remained calm and said, "He's completely out of danger now. You can put on a sterile suit and go in to see him, but don't stay too long, it will affect the patient!"

Amelia suddenly looked up, her bewildered eyes widening with joy. In that moment, Ivan Petrov's heart trembled, but he couldn't explain why.

Ivan Petrov felt that his decision was perhaps the right one. He was ultimately a gentle person, like the window curtain that had never been drawn again.

Someone immediately brought Amelia a sterile suit, and she entered the ICU with her emotions in turmoil. Several nurses quietly changed the continuous fluid in the drip bag, nodded at Amelia, and left.

Amelia could only see Tyler Davis in front of her. In just a few days, Tyler Davis had lost weight, and the oxygen mask covered his handsome face. He wasn't violent or cold, just lying quietly in bed.

Amelia was afraid to touch him, afraid that he would feel pain or get infected. She just sat quietly on the chair next to the bed, watching him.

It was as if breathing the same air as him made her feel more at ease.

"Tyler Davis, I'm here. I'm right here."

"Tyler Davis, does it hurt? Don't be afraid. I'll be with you for the rest of my life."

Amelia whispered softly. She didn't see it, but even though he was still in a coma and still under the influence of anesthesia, Tyler Davis's fingers moved slightly.
