All the students looked at Amelia strangely. Everyone knew that she had ranked last in the monthly exam and boasted about completing four years of study in one year. Wasn't that a joke? So, when Amelia returned to class, she was met with more mockery and ridicule.
"Look, it's her, the one who ranked last in the exam. She thinks she's a genius!"
"Graduate in one year? I doubt she can even last a year at Saint Hua without getting expelled."
"I don't know where she got the courage. Does she really think she's a super genius? It's ridiculous!"
After all, no student had ever graduated in just one year since the establishment of Saint Hua. The best record in recent years was finishing in one year and six months. And of course, those exceptional students were absorbed into Saint Hua's internal research institute.
Amelia had investigated these past records, which was why she wanted to show off and attract attention to increase her chances of entering the medical research institute. But she never expected this matter to spread and make it difficult for her to keep a low profile.
"Amelia, I know who spread the rumors." Noah Foster was sweating profusely and annoyed.
During these past few days of endless ridicule towards Amelia, Noah Foster felt guilty. She thought that it was her fault for asking Amelia in the first place and causing her to reveal her thoughts to outsiders. If she didn't find out the truth, how could she vent her anger?
"Who was it?"
"Quinn Cooper. I can't believe such a serious incident happened, and this woman can still come back to Saint Hua. She came back yesterday. I secretly contacted my family to inquire, and the Cooper family has cut ties with her." Noah Foster spoke in a hushed voice.
Amelia raised an eyebrow. "Ha, she dares to show her face here!"
The school's explanation was that Quinn Cooper was also a victim, and all the blame was on Daniel Scott. Quinn Cooper's family didn't care about her and canceled the lawsuit. They painted Quinn Cooper as a pitiful victim, which was why Saint Hua's students allowed her to return to school.
Noah Foster continued gossiping. "I heard that Quinn Cooper is really miserable. She was originally a third wheel in a relationship. The Cooper family has a legitimate daughter who had been resentful of her for a long time. Despite her situation, Quinn Cooper still harbored a deep grudge against Amelia and spread rumors unfavorable to her. It was clear that she was still looking for trouble, even though her reputation was in tatters and she was isolated from everyone.
Yesterday, Amelia had just returned to school and overheard a conversation between Noah Foster and herself. It was unfortunate timing, but Quinn Cooper made it her first priority to spread the news. Although she had done it very discreetly, there were always clues that could be found, and eventually, the truth would come out.
"This woman really hates me. Even in this situation, she still has the leisure to cause trouble for me," said Amelia, raising the corner of her eye, indifferent. She found it somewhat amusing that Noah Foster was eager to take action.
"What am I going to do? Punish that little brat. Even if she is in misery, it doesn't cancel out the bad things she did before. I used to pity her, but how did she end up being fired by Saint Hua? Now she's under my nose again and she still dares to make trouble for you. I'll make her regret it, no matter what her surname is!" exclaimed Noah Foster.
"Well, she doesn't really know what her surname is anymore, does she? The Cooper family doesn't acknowledge her," replied Amelia.
"Hahaha! Amelia, you're telling jokes now!" laughed Noah Foster, struggling to catch his breath.
Amelia blinked, not understanding what was so funny. She had never quite grasped Noah Foster's sense of humor.
Naturally, Amelia had not forgotten what Quinn Cooper had done to her before. Although it was likely that Quinn Cooper was now suffering from retaliation from Olivia Davis's family, it did not stop Amelia from wanting to cause trouble. So she and Noah Foster went straight to Quinn Cooper's dormitory to confront her, where they found her just about to return to her room after fetching hot water.
Amelia was startled when she saw Quinn Cooper - the person in front of her seemed like a completely different person after just a few days. Her face was pale and thin, with a red and swollen handprint and a cut. There were also visible bruises on her neck, and her little finger on the other hand was hanging at a strange angle, looking like it was broken and left untreated. She limped as she walked.
The hatred in Quinn Cooper's eyes seemed almost tangible as she looked at Amelia.
Noah Foster immediately sneered, "Hey, Quinn Cooper, where have you been to end up like this?"
Amelia asked, "What brings you here, Amelia?"
Quinn Cooper didn't even look at Noah Foster and instead gritted her teeth while staring at Amelia, as if she was going to pounce and bite her any second.
"I'm not doing anything. I just think you've been living too leisurely and spreading rumors about me," Amelia replied with a cold smile.
Amelia didn't know that the people who had attacked her had already been thoroughly dealt with by Tyler Davis.
Quinn Cooper's pupils contracted, and her eyes unconsciously darted around. "What are you talking about...I don't know anything. Don't come any closer to me, or I'll call for help!"
Noah Foster stepped forward with crossed arms like a gangster, "Go ahead and call for help! We didn't do anything, and your calls won't do any good. You have the guts to harm others from behind, so you should have the guts to face the consequences!"
Quinn Cooper kept retreating as she listened to him, never taking her eyes off of Amelia.
She didn't understand why she felt a sense of fear towards Amelia. The more she hated her, the more afraid she was. She was completely ruined, but she still didn't want Amelia to have it easy!
"Amelia, you're happy now that you see me like this, huh? If you have the guts, kill me. Even if I become a ghost, I won't let you go," Quinn Cooper's sharp voice was a bit hoarse.
"Don't get excited. Why would I kill you? Murder is illegal. I'm just talking to you!" Amelia's smile deepened, but it still looked cold.
"What do you want to say?" Quinn Cooper asked.
"It's nothing major, just that I think you've been doing a lot behind my back, messing around during military training, and sending people to attack me halfway. It must have been quite tiring. I'm just curious. What kind of deep-seated hatred do we have that would keep you so busy?" Amelia said.
"As expected, you know everything. But who are you to talk? You're not a good person either, to leave me looking like this!" Quinn Cooper screamed viciously.
