Chapter 109 - The thorn in Noah Foster's heart

The iceberg man coldly said to Caleb Smith, "Come here, your shameful skills have improved!" Caleb Smith, as cold as an iceberg, immediately slumped down like a deflated balloon and walked obediently behind the iceberg man. Because of his icy aura, even the onlookers dared not comment.

The iceberg man looked coldly at Noah Foster and said, "Don't waste your efforts trying to get my attention by doing these things. Ha, it's disgusting!" Everyone was confused as to why Noah Foster was being brought up again.

Amelia saw Noah Foster open his mouth but say nothing. His usually proud and arrogant face turned as white as a sheet, and his hands clenched into fists. Amelia sensed that something was wrong, furrowed her brows, took a few steps forward, and locked eyes with the iceberg man, as if they were trying to see who was more indifferent. "What's wrong with you? These two are fighting, but you have the nerve to blame Noah Foster?"

The iceberg man looked like he was immune to criticism. "I don't need you to tell me who she is."

Noah Foster's face turned even paler, and he staggered slightly. Amelia's petite body stood in front of him. "I don't care who she is, but you can't just falsely accuse someone. Apologize!" Amelia's eyes narrowed slightly, and her weak body emitted a fierce aura as she stared at the iceberg man.

Amelia didn't mind rumors about herself, but she couldn't let anyone insult Noah Foster. He was probably the first person, other than Tyler Davis, to treat her well in this world.

Caleb Smith saw that the situation was not right and quickly pulled the iceberg man's sleeve, whispering, "This really has nothing to do with anyone else today. I just can't stand that guy and want to beat him up."

The iceberg man's expression eased slightly. He no longer looked at Amelia and Noah Foster and said to Caleb Smith, "Let's go!"

Noah Foster stood there in a daze, and at this point, Amelia stepped forward, directly blocking the iceberg man and said coldly, "I said apologize to her!"

The iceberg man didn't speak, he just looked at Noah Foster with a cold smirk on his face. The expression on his face made Amelia feel the urge to hit him.

Noah Foster looked miserable and kept stepping back, pulling Amelia along with him. "I...it's okay, no need to apologize. Let's go," he said.

Amelia wasn't the kind of person who would insist on justice even when the victim said it was okay.

She looked at Noah Foster's face, which seemed like he was about to have a nervous breakdown at any moment. She sighed softly, glanced at the iceberg man, and decided not to say anything. She just pulled Noah Foster and walked away.

After a few steps, Amelia stopped and took out the hand that Noah Foster had tucked in his sleeve. She opened the fingers one by one, revealing the bloody marks on his palm. She gave the iceberg man a cold look before turning her attention back to the two fighting boys.

"You don't have to fight over me. I don't like being blamed for something I'm not involved in. If you're going to fight, don't use my name," Amelia said, leaving everyone stunned.

Her words sounded harsh, and they all knew that she was arrogant and aloof. But now, seeing Noah Foster being humiliated for her sake, she felt even more disgusted.

Amelia pulled Noah Foster and headed towards their dormitory. The two boys who were fighting became quiet and embarrassed.

The iceberg man watched the scene with his cold expression, but he unconsciously looked at Noah Foster's back, wondering what he was thinking.

Back in the dormitory, Noah Foster's pale face became a bit better as Amelia poured him a cup of hot water. She sat across from him and said calmly, "If you want to talk about the person earlier, I'm here to listen."

Noah Foster, who was usually proud and confident, was now visibly distressed. Amelia's calm demeanor seemed to have infected him, and he gradually became calmer, but the look of misery on his face was even more apparent.

"There's nothing that can't be said, I'll tell you!"

"His name is Ethan Miller. He grew up in the same courtyard as me. Among all our buddies, he was always the most dazzling and outstanding. Due to our family background, all of our playmates unconsciously isolated me and my sister. It's nothing, just because we were born in the Foster family, born as the princess of the Foster family. They couldn't climb high enough, so they expressed their dissatisfaction by mocking and isolating us."

Noah Foster's voice was very soft, with a unique coquettish tone, but it sounded somewhat heavy.

"My sister is different. She wants playmates, but she cares about my pride, so she didn't say anything!"

"But these privileged children who grew up under the influence of power and ambition are so vicious at a young age. Once, they tricked my sister into a secluded place and wanted to imitate the lewd posture of adults to molest her! When I arrived, my sister was frightened. How could they do this? My sister has a weak body and has been on medication since she was young!"

Amelia added some hot water to the cup and handed it to Noah Foster, who smiled indifferently.

"I went crazy and rushed over, but I couldn't beat these people at that time, and my sister fell ill."

"Then, there was the clichéd hero saves the damsel in distress scene. Ethan Miller saved us, saved my sister, and at a young age, I began to idolize him. Even though he was always cold towards me, it didn't diminish my admiration for him. Instead, it grew deeper and developed into a crush later on. When I graduated from high school, I mustered up the courage to confess my feelings. But... he said I made him feel sick and to never come near him again. He even told me to have my dad use his power to bully others if I had the guts."

Noah Foster's face turned even paler, and she tightened her grip on her water glass.

"Later on, I found out that eight years ago, the day he saved me, his dad got demoted. I explained that it had nothing to do with me, but he didn't believe me. He saved us, why would I go after his family? But when Ethan Miller saw those families who bullied my sister, my dad caught him in the act and sent him to jail. How could he trust me after that? Those people deserved it, they caused my sister to lose her life, shouldn't they be punished?"

"Ethan Miller was cold and distant towards everyone, but he hated me in particular. It's that simple. I've liked him for eight years, but he... has hated me for eight years."

Noah Foster didn't say the last sentence, the bright expectations her deceased sister had towards Ethan Miller, which had become the reason she couldn't let go of these past few years.

After hearing this, Amelia felt a tinge of sorrow. A young girl who lost her sister, idolized and secretly loved someone for eight years, only to receive nothing but hatred in return. She didn't know how to comfort her.
