Using Amelia's exceptional memory to play mahjong was a disaster, as one might imagine. After playing mahjong all afternoon, the grandfather lost so badly that he howled and cursed, thinking that he must be a demon. He remembered how his grandson had been so mischievous since he was young that he couldn't handle him. When they finally found a lovely and delicate girl to play with, she turned out to be just as mischievous as he was. The grandfather thought that they were not a family if they didn't share the same traits.
This was an unending cycle, so they had to hurry up and get married and have a great-grandchild for him to play with. Amelia had no idea that the first time they met, the grandfather had already set his sights on the next generation.
At night, as she watched the two of them enter a room together, the grandfather chuckled to himself. He thought that it would not be long before he could hold his great-grandchild. Perhaps he should ask when they were planning to have a wedding?
He listened at the door for a while, but couldn't hear anything. He cursed the soundproofing of the door and decided that it needed to be replaced.
Amelia was a carefree person by nature, and didn't think much about it. She had always shared a room with Tyler Davis! What was wrong with that?
Tyler Davis naturally wanted to be as close to Amelia as possible, but this was a big misunderstanding!
Amelia was focused on studying in school and rarely got a good night's sleep. But now, when she saw Tyler Davis, she felt relaxed and fell asleep easily.
But she didn't expect to sleep until noon.
Tyler Davis was considerate and didn't wake her up, choosing to sleep with her instead. Even Amelia, who was so calm, felt a bit embarrassed. After all, the grandfather was still around, and it seemed impolite to wake up so late.
When the two of them came downstairs, the grandfather saw them together and immediately grinned with his eyes squinted. "Oh, you're awake. Why are you up so early? The girl didn't sleep enough! Come on, come on, let's eat breakfast."
Amelia looked at Tyler Davis, confused. "Early? It's already ten o'clock in the morning. What's wrong with Grandfather?"
The maid quickly set the breakfast table, mostly because the grandfather was usually so serious and moody that the staff were afraid of him. But now that they saw him in such a good mood, their hearts were pounding, and they felt that something big was about to happen.
"Oh no!" one of the maids accidentally knocked over a stack of dishes. The room immediately fell silent, and the maid was shaking with fear, thinking that she had ruined her high-paying job.
The old man paused for a moment, still smiling. "Never mind, never mind. Quickly clean up and bring out a fresh one!"
After saying this, he waved his hand and everyone left. He smiled at Amelia and said, "Come, come, eat more to replenish your energy!"
The old man served Amelia a bowl of nourishing soup and then thought for a moment before serving Tyler Davis a bowl as well.
Tyler Davis finally realized what the old man was doing and his face turned dark! Even the usually indifferent Tyler Davis was a bit uneasy, but Amelia, who was still innocent and didn't understand anything, said the soup was very delicious and drank two bowls.
Amelia was confused by the old man's enthusiasm all day long. As the time approached, she said goodbye and headed back to school.
Finally, the trunk was filled with all kinds of supplements, and only then did the two of them leave.
The seemingly warm and leisurely old man, after they left, went to the Davis family and became the eccentric and imposing Davis patriarch, in charge of the large Davis family group.
Tyler Davis did not accompany Amelia, as Saint Hua was not Forest Peak and was not within his sphere of influence. As long as Amelia wanted to continue studying, he could not cause her any trouble for any reason.
Amelia naturally knew this and didn't mind. She even brought a pillow that Tyler Davis often used from Grace Manor, and left in a car amidst Tyler Davis's astonished gaze, feeling reluctant to part.
Sitting in the taxi, Amelia smiled as she thought about the whole box of food in the trunk and the pillow she had taken. She lightly tapped the iron box in her hand that had been cleaned, feeling satisfied.
With the smooth progress of her relationship with Tyler Davis, and Dylan Grant bitten half to death by the dogs and nowhere to be found, Ava Ramirez could no longer stay by Tyler Davis's side. Revenge was slowly being carried out, and the plan to save Tyler Davis was slowly moving forward.
"Squeak!" The sudden emergency brake caused the iron box in Amelia's hand to almost fall out, so she held it tighter.
Once she regained her balance, she saw that the taxi had almost collided with a black sedan that had rushed over.
The taxi driver was scared to death, and immediately shouted, "What the f*ck, how do you drive? Are you trying to kill us?!"
The black sedan stopped, and five men in black clothes and black pants with cold expressions quickly surrounded the taxi. They didn't look like easy targets, and the taxi driver was so scared that he was speechless and dared not curse anymore!
One of the men in black clothes kicked the car door and looked directly at Amelia, saying, "Get out of the car!"
Amelia's gaze sank and her eyes narrowed. It was clear that these people were after her, and even the taxi driver could tell.
The driver, who seemed a bit callous, forgot his fear and trembles and yelled at Amelia, "Get out of my car! I won't take you anymore!"
In situations like this, human nature is selfish, and the taxi driver couldn't care less about professional ethics. He didn't want to be implicated in anything, especially with such ruthless characters.
Seeing that Amelia didn't move, the driver actually turned around and tried to push her out of the car. But with a slight chill in her eyes, Amelia didn't let him touch her. She got out of the car on her own, clutching her metal box.
After she got out of the car, several men in black surrounded her, and the taxi driver, seeing that nobody was paying attention to him, stepped on the gas and quickly drove off, leaving a trail of exhaust fumes.
Amelia was stopped by the men, and they slowly closed in on her, forcing her to leave the main road step by step.
She looked around at the surroundings. This road was the only way to Saint Hua, but it was also the most remote point. Apart from Saint Hua students, there were not many outsiders passing by. As long as she left the main road, she would not be discovered. These people must have planned it out in advance and were waiting for her here.
"Who sent you?" Amelia asked coldly.
Her first thought was Ava Ramirez. Even though Ava had embarrassed herself at the Davis family, it probably wasn't her. With her cautious style, she would never make a move unless Tyler Davis was absent.
The several men in black naturally didn't answer, and they slowly approached her.
Amelia calculated her odds of escaping and found them to be slim. These men were obviously skilled, and there were five of them. If it were one or two, she might be able to fight back, but not against five.
Amelia had backed herself into a corner, with nowhere to go, and the men had completely surrounded her.
The leader suddenly stepped forward and snatched the metal box from Amelia's hand, throwing it aside.
"What's this piece of junk you're holding? Do you think it's a weapon?" he sneered.
Amelia was momentarily taken aback when her metal box was taken from her. But in an instant, her face changed, and her cold, indifferent expression was replaced by a fierce and menacing look.
