All the students got onto large military trucks, which were covered by deep green curtains that looked strict and imposing.
There were no seats in the back of the truck, and the students swayed lightly as the vehicle moved forward. Amelia felt like she was riding a livestock cart.
Occasionally, pedestrians on the roadside looked at them with admiration. "Wow! So many military vehicles, so cool!"
The route the trucks took became increasingly remote, and Amelia stared blankly at the scenery rapidly passing by. She wondered if these instructors were going to throw them inexperienced kids into the deep mountains of the wilderness.
"Screech!" The trucks came to a stop and lined up in perfect formation.
The green curtains at the back of the trucks opened, and the students, dressed in uniform camouflage outfits and carrying large backpacks with essential supplies provided by the instructors, jumped down one by one. They had painted their faces with oil and were full of determination to conquer the mountains.
This sense of determination was shattered by Amelia's awkward dismount from the truck. Unlike the others, she didn't jump down with coolness but slowly leaned against the truck's side, carefully and cautiously getting off. She even stumbled a bit because the truck bed was indeed quite high.
"Hahaha!" Some girls from other classes couldn't help but laugh and cover their mouths.
As a girl, it's always satisfying to make fun of someone who's prettier than you. There was no reason for this mockery. If there was, it was simply that Amelia was better looking than them!
"White lotus! You're really embarrassing our class six!" A girl from class six whispered disdainfully and unconsciously distanced herself from Amelia.
It was as if standing too close to Amelia would bring them shame.
This inexplicable distance made Amelia feel isolated and awkward, but little did they know, Amelia was satisfied. She didn't like people being too close to her.
At this moment, an instructor stood on the truck, looking down at all the students, and raised the megaphone in his hand. His voice was as loud as a thunderbolt on a clear day.
Amelia always felt that the instructor on Forest Peak had a naturally loud voice and didn't need a megaphone - he shouted so loudly that it made people's ears ache!
"Listen carefully, everyone. This is your training ground. Your task is to conquer this mountain and cross it. You only have three days and two nights. If you can't make it, fire your signal gun and someone will come to take you out. Remember! Once the gun goes off, it means you have failed the trial."
Some people started laughing, thinking that climbing a mountain only takes a day - why did they need several days and nights?
It's just climbing a mountain. Why was this trial so serious when it seemed so simple?
But Amelia's expression turned serious. She carefully looked around and realized that this was an almost undeveloped mountain.
The instructor's megaphone continued, "Don't try to take shortcuts. There are instructors guarding every exit, and each class is divided into two teams. Also, your backpack only has food for one day. Good luck to you all."
After the instructor finished speaking, the sound of cars starting up echoed through the area. The trucks carrying the students kicked up dust and left them stranded at the foot of the mountain.
Amelia's expression became even more serious. The mountain had no paths, and it was dangerous and complex. With three days and two nights to complete the task and carrying heavy equipment like tents, she had no idea how to proceed.
After a brief moment of shock, some people started organizing their own teams, imitating the instructor's instructions one by one. They seemed to be showing off their ability to lead a team.
Class Six also split into two teams, with Noah Foster and class leader Wyatt Parker leading the way. Noah was a woman with a masculine appearance, while Wyatt was a versatile man, both excellent choices for team leaders.
