The medical room was small and tidy, but the unfamiliar environment made her uncomfortable. She was the only patient, and it seemed that people on this military base had good health and didn't get sick often, as the military doctor was nowhere to be found.
Amelia sat up and remembered how many people in her past had said she was peculiar and willful. She admitted that she was indeed stubborn and disliked being in this place. So, she pulled out the needle from the back of her hand, which hurt so much that her eyes were filled with tears. She tried to put on her shoes, but found that her feet were wrapped in white gauze and could not fit into them. She calmly tore off the gauze, which stuck to her wound and almost peeled off a layer of skin, making her shudder in pain.
Despite the pain, she still did not want to stay there. She put on her shoes and limped out of the room. But just as she was about to leave, a hoarse voice came from behind. It turned out that the military doctor had not left but had gone to the dispensary.
The military doctor was young, in his twenties, but his voice sounded hoarse, almost like an older man. "Where are you going?" he sternly asked Amelia.
"I'm fine. I want to go back," Amelia replied calmly.
"Stop right there! With such a serious foot injury, how can you just leave?" the military doctor said.
Amelia was forced to stop because the doctor grabbed her wrist. His hoarse voice became louder, and he seemed to be getting angrier. She frowned at the physical contact and tried to free herself.
"What's wrong with you? No one cares about your spoiled princess attitude in the military. Don't you want to get better?" The military doctor sneered and his hoarse voice sounded particularly harsh.
"Mind your own business," Amelia replied coldly. She felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave quickly because her autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other issues made her feel out of place.
No one could compare to her when it came to having an unusual temperament.
Xavier Rivera was choked and felt extremely annoyed. He was used to criticizing others in this military base, so when did he become the one being humiliated by a young woman with blonde hair?
If it weren't for the notice from Preston Rhodes, he wouldn't have paid any attention to Amelia.
"I won't let you go now, what can you do?" Xavier Rivera said, slamming the door and pulling a chair to sit in front of Amelia, crossing his legs and holding his arms, looking at her with confidence.
"You..." Amelia was really angry. Although this military doctor had a handsome and just face, his personality was more like a rogue.
Amelia didn't think that she was being disobedient, and the doctor's attitude was strange. It was just that Xavier Rivera was not an honest person.
Amelia's body was too weak, and when Xavier Rivera provoked her, she fainted again.
Xavier Rivera raised his eyebrows triumphantly, as if he had won a battle. Could he not even treat a little girl?
When Amelia woke up again, needles were inserted in both her left and right hands. That damn military doctor, who inserts IVs on both hands! Her feet were wrapped like bear paws, and she had no doubt that the strange doctor was doing this on purpose.
"Hey! Are you awake? Are you leaving? If you leave, I'll catch you and give you another injection. Let's see who can remove the needle faster, you or me!" Xavier Rivera spoke with a mean tone and looked like he deserved a beating.
Amelia glanced at him disdainfully and ignored him, enduring her injuries. If Tyler knew that she was injured on the first day of her reporting, she didn't know what would happen!
Thinking of Tyler, her whole body softened.
Xavier Rivera thought he had subdued Amelia and was very satisfied.
After several large bottles of fluids were administered, Xavier Rivera finally removed the needles from her hands. The white backs of her hands immediately turned pale green where the needles had been.
"If you had been obedient earlier, that would have been good. Young people nowadays are becoming more and more useless. In the past, we were able to move freely under bullets and shells..." Xavier Rivera muttered.
At this moment, someone walked towards the medical room door. Under the backlight, Amelia could clearly see how angry the person's face was.
This anger frightened Amelia, and she involuntarily looked at her feet, feeling guilty.
Tyler!
Why did he come?
