After a moment, Di Tou walked up and knocked on the door of the building that used to be Old Gao's home. First the lower door, from which he got no response, and then the upper door, from which an old granny walked out and chatted with him for a while before finally explaining that although there had indeed been an old man living in the residence below her, he had moved out over a decade ago and she had no idea where he had gone.
Hearing this, Di Tou couldn't help but let out a sigh while thanking the old granny. So, at the very least a decade ago Old Gao was still around, but now the tracks had gone cold. Yet another acquaintance he wasn't sure of how to meet once more! Forget it, he had said it once, and he would say it again, he just had to leave things to fate.
If they were destined to meet, they would meet again, if not, well… in a way he was more used to sudden goodbyes than most people in the world, right?
