Blair was running in the hallway, her hands were lifting her long dress to avoid tripping and her shoes were making noises as they collided with the ground. Helen wanted to prevent Blair from running around, which was a prohibited act in the castle but she couldn't meet the princess, shouting also was prohibited and she couldn't do that.
Blair made a quick round in the corridor, she was running to the entrance of the castle, panic and fear were written on her face as she ran breathlessly. She stopped abruptly when she saw her stepmother glaring with her amber eyes.
"What did we discuss about running around in the castle?" The queen asked her as she directed a sharp glare toward Blair and her maid.
Blair immediately curtsied, "Greetings mother, how was your night?" She questioned in a flat tone.
"Good and I hope yours was good as well" She responded in the same tone that Blair had used for her.
"Do not let me find you running around, otherwise, you're going to answer to the king" She threatened in a low voice. She began to distance herself from Blair and when her eyes made contact with Helen, she scowled at the maid who suddenly looked down in fear.
"That's more like it," Margaret thought as she made her way out of their sight, her maroon gown trailing on the floor as she passed by.
When she was out of sight, Blair turned her attention to the large door in front of her, she was about to take a step towards it when, Suddenly, the royal servants barged into the hall with the captives they had brought.
Chained men carrying a big wooden box that contained humans were the first to enter, and the man who was previously beaten was the second to enter. His head was tilted and his hair was splattered all over his face, blocking his view from the world. His hands were chained behind him and his body was battered, with several injuries here and there and they were taking time to heal, maybe he was a beta.
Blair found herself walking towards him, she didn't know why but she felt this strong urge to reach out to him and stop all the pain he felt. Only if she wasn't a weak omega.
"Your highness?" Helen called her, she was also walking behind the princess to protect her if something was ever to happen.
Those captured men weren't people to play with, they were either bandits or rebels and the princess needed to steer clear away from them, instead of inclining toward them.
Blair didn't seem to hear what Helen was talking about, all she knew and all that was in her head was to reach out to this man and help him.
When did she ever feel this emotion? not with Sebastian but with this man. It felt like... it was something inexplicable, she couldn't describe it.
Zephyr felt someone coming closer to him, and also for the first time in his entire life, he felt some kind of emotion that he couldn't fathom. What was that feeling and why was the scent driving him crazy? He wanted to yank away his hands and turn in the direction of whatever was making him feel this way but he was unable, those guards had overpowered him.
"Wait" Blair spoke up to the servants, her rich honey voice, rolling into zephyr's ears. He didn't despise the sound of her voice, in fact, he was curious about who the person was.
The servants halted in position and bowed their heads to the princess, she smiled at them and acknowledged their greetings. "Who is he and why were you treating him badly outside?" she asked the chief of the servants.
The chief servant who previously had a crush on zephyr spoke up, " He is a thief that we found in the forest, we brought him here to his Majesty for discipline" He answered with a bow of his head.
" Also, this weakling here was giving us trouble that was why I asked the other servants to deal with him"
Blair wasn't convinced by his explanation, she knew Zero, the chief servant to be full of mischief. He always does whatever he wants with the captives because they were beneath him. "Still you shouldn't have beaten him badly, look at his skin" Blair pointed out. Her eyes almost became wet because of the sight of the man.
"I'm sorry your highness but we had to, else, he was going to kill us" Zero lied.
" It's alright" The princess waved her hand dismissively. She walked even closer to zephyr and began to inspect him again. He still had his head bowed and he was probably, fuming.
" Release him" she ordered Zero, the chief servant.
" What? "Zero yelled in exasperation. He looked at the princess unbelievably, "Your Highness, he would cause a lot of damage" He told her but Blair was hearing none of it, she didn't like seeing him with his hands behind his back, it must be hurtful.
"I said, release him" Blair gritted her teeth at the man.
"Alright your highness" Zero agreed, but inwardly he knew he was doomed, if this man ever got released, he was probably coming for him first because of the way zero had asked his men to maltreat him.
Taking careful steps, zero finally got to the back of Zephyr and he unlocked the chains. Before he could scurry away to hide, zephyr already grabbed hold of him and was going to launch a blow at him if he didn't hear the princess's voice. "Stop it, do you want to get beaten again?" She asked him.
Zephyr growled at her question and he released the man in his grasp.
"Turn around" Blair ordered. She was starting to feel this bubbly excitement in her stomach as she watched the man turning in her direction. She was curious to see who was making her feel things that she had never felt before, she was desperate to see him. It felt like an eternity before Zephyr could turn to face her. And Blair was growing impatient, it was as if, she should turn him around with her hands and look at him all she wanted but she didn't want to act strangely in front of her servants.
Alas, he turned to face her, and his gray eyes met with her green ones. "Who are you?" she asked with a slight frown on her face. Blair felt that it was unbelievable to see someone as handsome as this, she couldn't even deny the aura she was sensing from him, even though it was slight. The way he gazed at her, she felt like his class was above hers.
"Who are you?" He questioned, his voice deep and commanding.
The other servants were taken aback by his outrageous question, who was he and how dare he question the princess?
Blair took a moment to drink in his appearance and manner, she suddenly felt chills behind her back when she realized that he was almost similar to the wolf in her dream, his haughtiness, his height... It was almost similar except that the wolf had red eyes while his eyes were gray... She was about to jump to the conclusion that they might be different people but then she noticed a flicker of red in his eyes.
The princess fainted.
