|POETIC INTRO|
"The gods did speak
What was coming is not your kind
No, she's not the devil
But she still can't cut grasses!
She wants equity
In a world where she rather be sat down and taken care of!
She wants equality
In a world where she ain't half our strength
How dare she speak of her womb
When she got no manhood
How dare she shower praises on her vibrators!
They can make squirt but not make her children!
She wants to drive tractors and trailers
But she can't drive her home!
They want to be called kings among men
Yet she betrays her kind in the polling booth
If I go broke, can she wet my lips with water?
Will our offspring survive seeing the sunset?
Will she stand tall when I can't walk?
Will she push me when I can't push myself?
How dare she speak of her breast!
Can she find testicles in the dustbin?
She wants to lead the employees
When her emotions are yet to be subjected to her!"

FESTAC CENTRAL HOSPITAL|
"Eniola buries her head in tears and walks past the waiting rooms."
MR A BALOGUN
Ahh, Eniola, what is the problem?
(He goes after her)
ENIOLA
I'm fine, father
I just need to get some air.
(She wipes off her tears)
MR A BALOGUN
Are you sure?
You don't look okay.
What did the Doctor tell you?
ENIOLA
I'm fine, Daddy.
The Doctor said I need to take care of my health.
MR A BALOGUN
Ahh, why?
Are you not okay?
ENIOLA
We will talk when I come in.
(She walks away)
MR A BALOGUN
Ahh, which one is she needs to take care of herself?
(He dines in soliloquy)
"Bisola and Rukky, come out of Hopes's room."
MRS B BALOGUN
(She turns to Ayo)
Eniola hasn't come out from the Doctor's office?
Mr A BALOGUN
She has, oh.
But she was acting strange, and she was crying.
RUKKY
Ahh, why?
Mr A BALOGUN
I don't know. I asked her why she said she needed to get some air.
Mrs B BALOGUN
Ahh, you for follow am go outside na
We all know Eniola is a strong girl, but this matter really hit her hard. She shouldn't be left alone.
(She turns to leave)
Mr A BALOGUN
(He holds Bisola)
Bisola, let her be.
Maybe she needs space and time alone to think. As you've said, the matter is really strong, but we can only give her our support.
Mrs B BALOGUN
No, oh, I can't let my daughter be.
What if she does something to herself? Eniola can be very unpredictable
(She turns to one of the guards)
You, come with me.
RUKKY
Ahh, mummy, relax
You are overthinking things.
Eniola will be fine, just as Daddy has said; she probably wants to be alone.
Mrs B BALOGUN
Rara oh!!!
I don't care if she wants to be alone. Oh.
(She turns to leave)
"Dr Amara walks into the waiting room."
RUKKY
Doctor, how did it go?
Dr AMARA
We have to find another doctor.
As you all know, Eniola can't donate.
Mrs B BALOGUN
What do you mean Eniola can't donate?
Dr AMARA
(She realizes Eniola left them out of the situation)
I guess she hasn't told you.
She can't donate.
Mr A BALOGUN
Why Doctor?
Should they be a match?
Dr AMARA
This isn't about if she is a match or not.
We found some shortcomings in her blood.
RUKKY
What do you mean by that?
Dr AMARA
I'm sorry I can't share the details
I think Eniola should share them with you when she's ready.
Mrs B BALOGUN
Look, Dr Amara. Do you know who you are talking to?
This is Mr Ayo Balogun, the governor of Lagos.
So if I were, I would rethink what I say next because your actions could cost you your job and perhaps more!
Mr A BALOGUN
Calm down, Bisola
This young lady is just doing her job.
RUKKY
(She gazes at Dr Amara)
I would take her words seriously if I were you.
So better spill.
Mr A BALOGUN
Please, Dr Amara, try and understand us.
Dr AMARA
(She takes a deep breath)
Eniola can't donate because, as of the moment, she is an HIV patient.
Mrs B BALOGUN
What?
What did you just say?
(She grabs Dr Amara)
Mr A BALOGUN
(He holds Bisola)
What do you mean, Doctor?
Dr AMARA
Eniola is HIV positive.
Mrs B BALOGUN
No!!!
(She falls on the ground as she swims in her agony and tears)
RUKKY
No, that's a lie.
It's not true.
(She sits on one of the chairs as she struggles with her trembling hands)
Mr A BALOGUN
Doctor, are you certain of this?
If this turns out to be a false alarm, I promise you there will be consequences for your actions.
Dr AMARA
(She smiles at Ayo)
Mr Governor, I have everything to lose and nothing to gain by raising any false alarms.
I advise that she start treatment as soon as possible; for Hope, we need to find a donor as quickly as possible.
(She walks out of the room)

"Bisi walks into the sitting room."
BISI
(She sits beside Bayo)
Any news from Eniola and others?
BAYO
No, not yet.
I tried calling, but none of them was picking up.
KEN
What do you guys think that was all about?
"Olamide walks into the sitting room."
OLAMIDE
What's happening?
This one, you are all looking serious.
BISI
When did you come in?
I thought you moved in with Mom already.
OLAMIDE
OmO, I couldn't. Oh.
Your Mother has a funny way of pushing people away
Can you believe she invited The Adesoji's to her residence?
Hmm, I don't know what Mummy is up to, but if I were her, I would be careful, especially with Grandfather's presence.
BAYO
What do you guys expect?
No offence, but Auntie Lolade is the spitting image of Grandpa.
They are both stubborn, self will driven, won't stop till they get what they want, and do not fear anything, but their plans will not come to pass.
BISI
Bayo isn't far from the truth.
Uncle Ayo and I, Eniola and Rukky talked about something similar.
I just hope they don't end up destroying each other.
KEN
I don't think it will ever get to that point.
They may not see it, but I know they love each other the most in this household, which is why Auntie Lolade was deeply hurt when Grandpa made Uncle Ayo his next of kin.
OLAMIDE
Hmm, I don't know about that, but I just hope you are right oh.
By the way, where are Rukky and Eniola?
BAYO
They are at the hospital with My parents.
A lady showed up a while ago claiming Eniola's child is dying.
OLAMIDE
Ahh, this is serious
But Eniola never had a child, na.
BAYO
Exactly, so I don't understand how any of this should make sense.
Hmm.
KEN
But they could be a possibility that Eniola does have a child.
With her lifestyle, her clamour for privacy and the fact that she also spent some years out of our sight.
BISI
(She sits up)
Probably she had her during those years, and we never knew because she found a way to keep it from us.
BAYO
You guys are making a point, but I have never seen a piece of information in this family walk pass Grandpa without clinging to his ears.
My point is that Grandpa would have found out about it all these years.
KEN
Bayo has a point, shall?
Because I nor go lie una, I dey fear Chief for where media and info dey.
That man knows what will be out in tomorrow's papers already!
OLAMIDE
(He laughs out loud)
Where is the lie?
I won't be surprised if he knows when I go to the toilet oh.
BISI
Ehen, where is Taiwo?
Why isn't he back yet?
OLAMIDE
Taiwo is fine
He had something to take care of.
But he will be back tomorrow.
KEN
Alright, that's good.
(He switch's on the Flat screen)
BISI
Omo, I'm going to bed, oh.
If they come home abeg let me know.
Good Night, Guys.
(She picks up her blanket and walks out of the sitting room)

Hey
(She smiles)
MICHAEL
Good Morning, my sleeping beauty.
How was your night?
TEMI
(She reminisces about his hands opening her open)
Last night was and is the best night of my life.
I am open for a third round if you want
MICHAEL
(She kisses her)
Me too, baby, but before we eat, we should eat.
Let's make breakfast together.
(He lifts her from the bed)
TEMI
(She laughs out loud)
Oh God, hold me well, oh
If you drop me, I will eat you alive.
MICHAEL
This woman!
You are underestimating me, oh.
(He drops her on one of the chairs in the sitting room)
TEMI
You know I love you, right?
(She holds his cheeks)
MICHAEL
I love you more, Temilade Balogun
(He kisses her)
"Kemi walks into the sitting room."
KEMI
(She smiles at them)
Good Morning; breakfast is ready.
"Temi and Michael jump from the chair in shock."
TEMI
Jesus Christ!
MICHAEL
What are you doing here, Kemi?
How did you even get it?
KEMI
Relax, guys; I still have my key.
Come and eat breakfast is ready I will wake Awelle now.
(She turns to leave)
MICHAEL
Don't you dare!
Why would you come into my house without my permission?
Please leave.
(He points at the door)
KEMI
Your house?
How?
The last time I checked, I helped you find this place.
MICHAEL
And the last time I checked, you last paid rent the last time you walked out on us.
Use the door, please!
"Awelle walks into the sitting room."
AWELLE
Daddy!
TEMI
( She walks to where Awelle is standing)
Baby, how are you?
AWELLE
I'm fine.
(She hugs Temi)
KEMI
Awelle, my love, come, it's me, Mummy
(She spreads her hands in expectance of a welcome home package from her daughter)
AWELLE
Daddy, who is this?
(She pointed at Kemi)
MICHAEL
You know what?
You should leave now.
(He picks up Kemi's bag and drags her to the door)
KEMI
Let me go, Michael. You can't stop me from seeing my daughter.
I'm her Mother. That woman can't replace me.
(She points at Temi)
MICHAEL
Don't you feel any essence of shame?
Even your daughter doesn't recognize her Mother.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Kemi.
Please leave.
(He opens the door)
KEMI
You can't keep her from me, Michael.
You can never take away the fact that I'm her Mother.
I will forever remain the woman whose breast she sucked on.
MICHAEL
How dare you speak of your breast when you've betrayed your identity as Mother.
Get out, Kemi.
(She pushes her outside and slams the door)
Can you imagine the nonsense? Is she mad?
TEMI
Michael, watch your tongue.
(She drops her eyes on Awelle)
MICHAEL
(He walks to Awelle)
I'm sorry, baby.
(He holds her hand)
AWELLE
Who was that woman?
Is she my Mother?
MICHAEL
(He is short of words)
Awelle, I don't know what to say.
TEMI
(She distracts Awelle)
I bought you some chocolate yesterday. Do you want to try them?
AWELLE
Yes!
I want to eat.
(She jumps in excitement)
TEMI
Go and brush your teeth first.
AWELLE
Okay
(She runs to the bathroom in excitement)
MICHAEL
Don't run, Awelle, you will hurt yourself
(He turns to Temi)
I'm sorry, babe. I owe both of you an apology.
(He holds her hands)
TEMI
(She smiles at Michael)
It's fine, babe.
None of this is your fault; besides, she's gone now.
(Temi's Phone rings)
I'm sorry I have to check this
(She picks up her three eyes from the table)
It's a message from my Dad.
MICHAEL
What is it?
TEMI
Eniola is missing, and it's serious.
I have to go now, babe.
MICHAEL
Ahh, maybe she spent the night somewhere else.
TEMI
I don't know, Michael, my Dad said I should come home immediately, that it's urgent.
MICHAEL
Alright, but you should take Awelle with you.
You can bring her to work later in the evening.
TEMI
Ahh, why?
It's Friday. She should be in school na
MICHAEL
Kemi broke into this house in the middle of the night. I won't be surprised if she goes to her school to do the same thing.
I can't risk it. Just take her along with you.
TEMI
Alright, I like that
I think it will give us an opportunity to bond.
MICHAEL
Alright, dear, I will help you pack her things.
And don't worry; your sister will be fine.
(He kisses her on the forehead)

"Chief Balogun arrives at the mansion."
Mrs K BALOGUN
(She hugs Chief)
Welcome home.
CHIEF BALOGUN
How have you been?
Mrs K BALOGUN
You mean, how has business been?
The company is doing okay
I think Bayo knows his way around already.
CHIEF BALOGUN
I wasn't asking about the well-being of the company
I was asking about you, Kate.
(He places both his hands on her cheeks)
Mrs K BALOGUN
Williams, I have known you all my life.
We both know you spent more time worrying about Bayo's competence.
Bayo has learnt a lot from you. Don't you think it's time to let him continue your legacy?
CHIEF BALOGUN
(He sits on one of the chairs in the dining)
The last time I trusted somebody with my company, we suffered a loss that took us years to recover, so forgive me if I'm sceptical about Bayo's competence.
Mrs K BALOGUN
That was Ayo's shortcomings.
Why should a son pay for the sins of thy father?
CHIEF BALOGUN
This is more personal than you think, Kate.
And I have to weigh my options, especially now that Taiwo might be joining the company.
Mrs K BALOGUN
Wow, has he agreed to join?
CHIEF BALOGUN
Not yet, but he has no reason to say no since I made sure every University turns down his resume.
Mrs K BALOGUN
Williams!!!
You can't always decide for these children, na. We all know Taiwo has had a passion for teaching for a long time. Why don't you let him do that?
CHIEF BALOGUN
No offering from my bloodline will live as a commoner.
He is better than that, and we both know this, Kate!
We are the Baloguns. We exist to dominate and conquer.
We exist to be gods and goddesses among men.
Mrs K BALOGUN
Sorry Sir, nor vex
But I must warn you. If your selfish actions backfire against you, I will look you in the eyes and remind you of this day.
CHIEF BALOGUN
That day will only exist in your deepest imagination, Kate.
By the way, what is the update concerning Dr Chidi and Temilade?
Mrs K BALOGUN
It's still as you left it, Chief.
Temi is yet to go out on a date with him.
She seems to be having a tough time.
CHIEF BALOGUN
Hmm
I think this has something to do with Mrs Aisha's grandson.
Since she doesn't want to concur with my wishes, I will turn them into my reality.
(He gets up to leave)
Mrs K BALOGUN
Where are you going?
CHIEF BALOGUN
I have to go to work, and I will be honouring an invitation to Lagos State News house later today.
Mrs K BALOGUN
Ahh, but you just got home, na?
CHIEF BALOGUN
I wanted to see the face of the woman I chose to spend the rest of my life with.
But I'm sorry, I have to go now.
(He kisses her on the forehead)

TEMI
E kaaro, Sir
I went out with some friends. I'm sorry I didn't call back last night.
Mr A BALOGUN
Temi, we both know how much you are glued to your room, so I find it difficult to believe you woke up one Morning and decided to spend the night somewhere else, but I will let you off the hook.
Have you heard from your sister?
TEMI
No, father, I haven't.
What happened, by the way?
"Bayo walks in"
BAYO
Your sister is HIV positive, and she has a daughter.
Mrs B BALOGUN
Bayo, what's the meaning of that?
BAYO
But it's the truth.
You can't keep the truth from Temi na.
Somewhere along the line, she will find out
TEMI
Wait a minute; I don't get any of this.
Eniola is HIV positive?
And she has a daughter?
How?
BAYO
Well, we are still shocked and trust me, the worse is yet to happen till Grandpa finds out.
I have to leave for work now.
(He walks away)
TEMI
I often warned her to let go of that lifestyle of hers.
Oh God, I still don't get all of this.
She needs to explain all of it to me.
Mr A BALOGUN
Calm down, Temi.
Eniola needs us right now. We have to be here for her in many ways.
I have to be in Ikaja for a meeting
See you guys late.
(He walks to the front door)
TEMI
(She turns to Bisola)
Where is Rukky?
Mrs B BALOGUN
She's in her room.
(She sees this as an opportunity to talk to Temi)
My baby girl, please give me a chance to explain myself
TEMI
Oh God, Mummy, let me be na.
I need to figure out where my sister is. You are the least of my problem right now.

TAIWO
I was lucky
There wasn't much traffic, which is why I was able to arrive early
I parked outside the house. I can't stay long. I heard my sister is missing
This is it.
(He drops the file his investigator gave to him on the table)
MICHAEL
(He opens the file)
Wow, it's just as you said. The dates don't tally.
I checked my Dad's it isn't the same.
Hmm, whoever did this was powerful enough to replicate the death certificates.
What is the way forward, Taiwo?
We have to find a way to get to the bottom of this.
TAIWO
I swear on my Mother's grave; I must get to the bottom of this.
Secondly, we have to figure out the origin of this phone number.
There are no details about it online, and that is very weird.
MICHAEL
Don't you think that will be difficult since there is no trace of its existence?
TAIWO
I don't know, Michael, but these are our only leads for now. We have to use what we have to get that which we desire.
I don't care what it will cost me to discover the truth about this.
MICHAEL
I'm with you, bro.
But just as we discussed, we must keep this from my Mom and Onyinye. I don't want to get them involved; we both know how my mum feels about this.
TAIWO
Your secrets are safe with me, Michael and I understand why it's important that you keep them from all of this.
I don't want to scare you, but what we are doing is very dangerous. We need to be very cautious.
MICHAEL
I knew the risks before joining you in the quest for justice.
TAIWO
(He gets up to leave)
Alright, I have to go now. I need to find out more about Eniola's disappearance.
I will update you on the investigation later.

LAGOS STATE NEWS HOUSE|
"Michael Henrietta hosts a live interview section with Chief Balogun."
MISS M HENRIETTA
(She turns to the live camera)
Good afternoon my fellow Lagosians
Today we will be hosting a very special guest.
The man we call the king of Lagos—the God of Nigeria politics.
(She turns to Chief Balogun)
Chief Balogun, Sir, you are welcome.
CHIEF BALOGUN
(He smiles at Miss M Henrietta)
Thank you.
MISS M HENRIETTA
Alright, we have a few questions for you today, Sir.
Firstly, your daughter Mrs Lolade Luther Balogun, was recently announced as the AUG Vice President candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
What is your reaction to that as a pioneer of The NNC party and father?
CHIEF BALOGUN
(He clears his throat)
Lolade is a full-grown adult. She is entitled to her own opinions and is free to make her decisions
As a pioneer of The NNC party, I see no reason to panic or be frightened. The political entity yet to scare me is yet to exist.
As a father, I must confess I expect my daughter to be on my side. Every father would want that.
But the will of a father can not be imposed on thy daughter.
MISS M HENRIETTA
Wow, you have spoken well, Sir.
So let's move to the next question on our list.
There has been a reaction to Mrs Lolade's recent decision, and the majority of the public believes that The AUG stand a chance in this election, making it more challenging for The NNC party.
What do you or do not agree to this, Sir?
CHIEF BALOGUN
(He engages himself in mild laughter)
First of all, I want to correct a statement you made.
Saying that most of the public believes that AUG stands a chance is very unrealistic if you say the Igbo and the women, yes! But the general public? Oh no.
And yes, Mrs Lolade's decision to join the AUG party took some power and bragging rights from us. After all, she is her father's daughter. She is a Balogun, so what do you expect?
MISS M HENRIETTA
Based on your first statement, are you saying Mrs Lolade's decision to join The AUG wouldn't give them a chance of winning?
CHIEF BALOGUN
In the east, maybe!
Among the young ladies who believe in their clamour for women's dominance, probably.
But in Nigeria as a nation, they do not stand a chance.
This is not coming from a place of sentiments.
This is the reality of Nigerian politics.
MISS M HENRIETTA
I think there is an essence of truth in what you have said, Sir, but the results of the election alone will determine the winner.
Okay this is not a question but the public will want to know your reaction to this statement Ocsthoughts made on Twitter yesterday.
According to the popular influencer;
"Omo this one Chief Balogun's daughter has joined The AUG party, I am certain Chief will be regretting ever giving birth to Lolade. Like say e know, he for just pull out Lol"
(She turns to Chief Balogun in expectance of a reaction from him)
CHIEF BALOGUN
It's very obvious that statement was a cry for attention which I would be giving Octhoughts if I choose to speak further on this.
Please move on to something more relevant.
MISS M HENRIETTA
Wow, alright.
So here comes our next question to you, Sir.
What is your message to The AUG party?
What is your reaction to their clamour for political dominance?
CHIEF BALOGUN
Hmm, first of all, they need to understand that Rome wasn't built in a day. Yes, political power will come to them, but sadly it can't come to pass in this coming election.
They should go home and work on their structure, political strategies and technics
Secondly, The AUG party must understand that the crown of Feminism and clamour for female dominance is their biggest weakness as a party.
They need to understand that Feminism will remain an allusion till women realize that to strive and dominate in politics, they must let go of their breasts and take on beards.
(He noticed the curiosity on Mrs Henrietta's face)
Relax, I will explain it.
Women are their problem. Women are more in number in any congregation, yet they betray their kind in the polling booth. Times before now, the majority of The AUG presidential candidates were women. Still, none of them could become president, not because they were not fit or competent but because of the problem of gender betrayers in the polling booth. In essence, women do not believe in themselves. There is no structured woman-for-woman support in society.
Secondly, the majority of women lack the experience to lead. Women cloud their judgments with many emotions and sentiments that can not work In politics.
You haven't led your home; you want to be Governors and presidents, ahh no na yourself think am.
Lastly, African traditions generally don't support women's dominance.
We have been influenced by western culture in many ways, but we need to understand that we were and are Africans before we became anything else. There will always be a mixed reaction when conversations about Feminism and women's dominance are brought up in African society.
MISS M HENRIETTA
Hmm, you have said a lot, Sir. And as much as I am a woman who believes in Feminism, I would agree with you on some of the points you made, especially the last one that has to do with African culture and traditions
(She turns to the camera )
We will taking a break now
We will be back shortly.
