As Max and Victoria exited the Ace Of Spades room, they immediately noticed the difference.
The dimly lit hallway was as empty and silent as they had left it—save for the absence of Leslie and Ivan.
Victoria scanned the corridor, her breathing still uneven. "Where the hell are they? Weren't they supposed to wait for us?"
Max's jaw tightened as he looked around, his sharp eyes darting from one shadow to the next.
"Looks like they haven't come out of the Ace of Hearts room yet and are still in it, hopefully, alive."
Victoria crossed her arms, her frustration boiling beneath her calm exterior. "So what do we do? Wait for them?"
