Emily spent the next few days trying to make sense of everything that had happened with Michael. She couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and sadness, knowing that their relationship had come to an abrupt halt.
She tried to distract herself by throwing herself into her studies and spending time with her friends, but her mind kept wandering back to Michael. She couldn't help but wonder if things would ever be the same again between them.
One day, as Emily was sitting in her room, she received a text message from Grace.
"Hey, are you free to meet up later?" the message read.
Emily felt a sense of relief wash over her at the thought of seeing her friend, and quickly replied back.
"Yeah, sure. What's up?"
Grace suggested that they meet at a local park, and Emily agreed. As she walked to the park, she couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within her. She knew that Grace had always been a good listener and hoped that she could help her make sense of everything that had happened with Michael.
When Emily arrived at the park, she spotted Grace sitting on a bench, her face lit up with a smile.
"Hey, Em!" Grace said, standing up to greet her. "It's good to see you."
Emily smiled back at her, feeling grateful for the support of her friend. "Thanks for meeting me here, Grace. I really needed someone to talk to."
Grace nodded, taking a seat on the bench beside her. "Of course, Em. What's been going on?"
Emily took a deep breath before speaking, her words spilling out in a rush. She told Grace everything that had happened with Michael, from their first kiss to his decision to take a break from their relationship.
Grace listened intently, her expression one of concern. "Wow, that's a lot to deal with. I'm sorry you're going through this, Em."
Emily shrugged, feeling a sense of resignation. "I don't know what to do. I miss him, but I don't want to lose him as a friend."
Grace nodded, understandingly. "It's tough when you have feelings for someone and they don't feel the same way. But I think you need to focus on yourself right now, Em. Take some time to figure out what you really want."
Emily sighed, feeling a sense of frustration building within her. "I know you're right, Grace. It's just hard to let go of something that meant so much to me."
Grace reached out and placed a hand on Emily's shoulder, her touch comforting. "I know, Em. But sometimes, the things we want aren't always what's best for us. You'll get through this, I promise."
As Emily left the park that day, she couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards her friend. She knew that she still had a long way to go in terms of moving on from Michael, but she felt comforted knowing that she had the support of her friends to help her through it.
