Chapter 2 - A New Road: "ACCEPT or DECLINE"

"System Announcement: The host has successfully completed the requirements to enter LEVEL 1

Proceed?

YES or NO"

"What does this mean? I am supposed to be dead isn't it? Am I in a sort of dream?", asked Eisen to himself in total confusion as he keeps hearing this announcement buzzing and popping up in his head and mind that he can't even seem to shake off.

In his subconscious mind it was as if a huge pool of dark sea and nothing was visible except a huge blue see-through notification panel and he himself. He tries to touch the notification screen in front of him but the screen prompts again with the message

"Does the host accept? YES or NO."

This scared Eisen so he clicked on "NO". As soon as he clicked on the "NO" message, the dark floor beneath his feet started slipping off gradually. To protect himself from falling into that expanding dark pit of his subconsciousness he started running far away from it into further darkness.

After running for several minutes he finally saw light in front of him, "It will finally end, whatever this was, I'm never going to experience this again." But he couldn't guess what awaited him passed that beam of light.

As he broke through the darkness into the light it was too hot for him, no for real, it felt scorching as if his bare feet were burning. He was feeling the sand with his feet hot, burning and softly granular. He realized that he was in a desert.

"Where am I?" Eisen started looking around, not a single shade or sign of cultivation could be seen till as far as the eyes could go.

Suddenly he felt as if the sand hill beneath his feet was trembling and the force got stronger as a huge serpent appeared in front of Eisen.

"System Announcement: Giant Black Desert Serpent- class A

Need to kill it and gather their spirit stone.

ACCEPT or DECLINE"

A message popped up in the air in front of Eisen. Eyes filled with terror, intrigue and astonishment, seeking answers regarding his current situation. He didn't get much time to anticipate what was going to happen next that the monster leaped towards him. To save himself Eisen jumped out of the way and stumbled to get up in the slippery sand.

"How do you even expect me to run in this situation? But I have to- Damn it!"

Collecting his strength on his legs he pulled himself through the engulfing sand and tried running as far as he could from the monster but to no avail. Suddenly another similar monster appeared from the sand in front of Eisen. Watching his steps he stood at some distance from the two monsters, one was in front of him, overshadowing him, while the other was approaching towards him in speed as if to say The human is mine, I found it first so do not put a single sting of yours on him before me!

In the midst of this another message pops up:

"System Announcement: Kill the monsters- ACCEPT or DECLINE"

"Now it has increased to "monsters"?!"

The message and the situation, as confusing as it is, was frustrating Eisen. He doesn't have much time to think- there are options in front of him; not to "ACCEPT or DECLINE" but to LIVE or to DIE. Within a second Eisen could see his painful death approaching, he wants to die but-

"-NOT PAINFULLY! "ACCEPT"!"

"System Announcement: Task has been accepted by the host- Kill the Giant Black Desert Serpents. REWARD:10,000 gold, full HP recovery; FAILURE: Slow death with infiltration of venom in the blood circulation. TIME LIMIT: No time limit"

As Eisen accepted the conquest a black dagger appeared in his empty hands:

"Ghost Dagger: True Damage-caused to the enemy

20% venom- poisons the enemy for 20 seconds

15% more damage.

Class-A

Level 1"

The information about the weapon in Eisen's hand popped up in front of him. But he had no time to react to it or the previous message, though he read them both, as his life was running out of his hand. Without any hesitation he ran forward and stabbed the monster in front of him to the height he could reach by leaping towards it. And then tear open its guts with filthy purple juice gushing out of it.

The Monster still struggled to get over Eisen while he kept trying to escape but it caught him by his shirt. He was then thrown in the air to get eaten by the monsters while the other monster arrived and bit off the injured one's neck to have Eisen all to himself. But he turned his body airborne and stabbed the surviving monster right in its eye due to which the monster screeched and hit Eisen in his gut with its tail, throwing him at least 8 meter away.

Luckily he landed on the sand so not much damage was incurred but the pain sure choked him and made him puke. Exhaustedly and sorely he stood up gripping his dagger more firmly as he knew that the venom must have lost its effect on that monster as it could be seen vigorously rushing forward towards him.

"It surely seems angry. Shit!" Eisen gathered all the strength he could use at the very moment and was ready with a plan to face the disaster coming forth.

The monster was so close to him that if it opened its mouth then Eisen would be in it but when the monster opened its mouth wide, taking the opportunity, Eisen plunged his dagger right into the monster's head through its upper jaw.

The purple juice, or its blood, was all over Eisen's hand and upper body, crowning him and his dagger as the victor. The serpent was dead as of the damage exercised upon him and also, to add up, the effect of the dagger was of help. After a few seconds, two gleaming white Spirit Orb like thing rose from the dead head of the serpent; probably because it had eaten the other serpent.

Eisen holds the spirit orbs in his hands while one is absorbed by the Ghost Dagger. This gave an idea to Eisen, he gave the other orb to the dagger as well and it got absorbed well.

Exhaustedly, he sat down on the sandy dune of the desert where he made his victory, gasping for breath. It seems that he had swallowed a bit of the poisonous blood of the serpent, and after using all his energy his limbs are sore and immovable already. Now his sight and head are all getting fuzzy, he started choking for air as well.

"CONGRATULATIONS! The host has cleared the Task- Kill the Giant Black Desert Serpent.

REWARD: 10,000 gold and HP full recovery, has been granted

STATUS UPDATE: Ghost Dagger has been updated!

Class AA

Level 2

True damage-10% increased, 30% venom- poisons the enemy for 30 seconds, 20% more damage."

With this message Eisen, who had turned blue and stopped breathing, opened his eyes wide while taking a deep breath with his mouth as if he finally got his life back. His health was getting restored. But before his vision got any clearer, a bright light shone in front of his eyes and engulfed him.
