When Livia regained consciousness she found herself laying on a hospital bed. There was a blanket over her body and she was wearing a hospital gown.
She pulled her upper body up and saw that she had an IV in the back of her arm. Her hair was loose and tangled around her face. She reached up to rub her hair away from her forehead. When her fingers ran down her cheeks they came across sticky residue, blood.
Livia's heart skipped a beat when she saw that her stomach wasn't bulging out like it usually did when she was pregnant, but instead was flat and unprotruding.
' Did I give birth? If so where's my baby ' Livia thought. Panic started to set in.
What if she lost the baby? She'd have no one there to care for her. Livia had always known how lonely she would be living by herself and with no family. All her hopes would be crushed if this baby didn't make it.
' My only ticket to leaving a wealthy life, ' she thought.
