Luis observed her reaction as she examined the contents and muttered, "Is it a wedding invitation from Santiago?"
"Their wedding is in two days," Lola explained as she slipped the invitation into the envelope.
"Why would he send a wedding invitation?" Luis asked, pulling his head back and tucking his hands into his pockets.
"I'm curious as well, let's accept this invitation after all, it wouldn't look good if we didn't come," Lola said, to which Luis replied, "I guess you're right."
Lola stood up, grabbed her bag, and walked towards the door.
"Are you leaving right now?" Luis inquired, and Lola nodded without looking back before departing.
'Even though we're leaving as a married couple, it doesn't feel that way; it feels like we're strangers,' Luis reflected.
"This feels familiar...oh yeah, it was like this a few months before she broke up with me, it's as if she's attempting to distance herself." Luis muttered to himself.
