Now
The brown cup had a thin stream of steam that danced gently in the wind. The sky outside was very gray and a heavy rain had just fallen. Jayde wondered why it hadn't snowed when it was already so cold in Canada. Even though he was born and raised in this town, Jayde has never felt immune to the Canadian cold. He was now standing in front of the large window of his house wearing two layers of warm clothing, khaki thermals wrapping around his legs and protecting them from the chill that bit the skin. He had finished two cups of coffee and now his third. With every minute he became more and more restless waiting for someone who was supposed to arrive today. That was if that person didn't suddenly change her mind and think that his offer was worth fighting for.
"You have been standing there since an hour ago. This is the first time I've seen you so unproductive since you came back from Cleveland."
"Mom..." Jayde snorted in annoyance.
