November 11
"Happy birthday!!!" Her mom screamed as she entered her room. "Your dad's buying you a suv today. But I have other plans for you. So get your lazy ass up."
Alex groaned and turned around.
"Go away. Let me sleep"
"Fine. I'll go to the racetrack by myself then. Bye!"
She shot straight up in bed. "What? Race track?"
"There's a race I brought tickets to if you wanna watch."
Alex jumped up and pulled her mother into a tight hug.
"Best gift ever"
"This ain't the best gift honey"
"There's more?"
"You'll see when we get there. Now, take a shower and be down for breakfast. We'll go soon after." she said and walked out the door.
The phone started ringing and Alex picked it up without checking the caller.
'Good morning to you!
'Stefan?!'
'Happy birthday principessa!'
'Thank you Stefan'
'I have a gift for you but it's at the club right now. You don't have to come tonight. I'm giving you the night off. Just remember to collect your gift.'
'Thank you Stefan. But now, I have to go. My mom's taking me to a race in an hour and I just got up. And she says she has another surprise.'
'Well that's amazing. Hope you have a good day.'
'You too Stefan' She ended the call.
Getting ready, she skipped down the stairs and crashed into one of the dining chairs, an array of various foods lined in front of her. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, and even bacon and cheese sandwiches!
"What's the other surprise, mom?"
"You'll see when you get there. Just tell me what you would want your racer name to be."
"Weird question but okay. I think I would like Alex Raven. It consists of half my name and Raven will be from my hair color."
"Thank you. Now, eat up"
She typed something on her phone and kept it aside.
"Did I do good?" She asked.
"You did amazing. Now let's go!"
They walked outside to the wonderful view of a Porsche waiting for them. Her mouth dropped at the beauty and she walked over to the driver's side and opened the door.
"Who's is this?" She asked in disbelief.
"Honey, it's for you."
"Dad brought this?"
"Nope. I did. Now get in and drive"
She did as she was told and drove to the racetrack. They were parked and got pop corn and then walked over to their seats.
The race started and was over too quickly, obviously. They enjoyed it none the less.
They were now walking over to her new car when the announcer arrived to them- sharing a cheeky look with her mother who couldn't help but giggle as she waited and kept her excitement bundled inside.
"Nice car. You drive?" He asked Alex.
"Yeah."
"What's your name?"
She looked over at her mother, receiving and extremely enthusiastic nod in return. This was her birthday present.
"Alex Raven. I'm 21"
"Can I see you drive?"
She squealed and got in the car and removed it swiftly from the parking lot. Almost began to drive away when the announcer tapped on her glass and pointed to the racetrack.
It was so smooth.
She couldn't hold herself cool and drove with the expertise of a professional, gliding on the road as if she was the wind. She drove multiple rounds on the track but slowly drifted to a halt on seeing the announcer talking with her mother.
She walked over to them.
"Did I do good?"
"You did amazing, hard to believe you're just 21. Would you want to race?"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah. I talked with your mom last night as well. She said you raced but I didn't know you were this good. Would you like to join?"
She jumped at that though. "Yes, yes, a hundred times yes!!!" She squealed.
"See you next week. Saturday."
And with that he walked off.
She turned to her mother and pulled her into a huge hug.
"This is so cool. That's for doing this mom. I love you"
"I love you too honey. And no need to thank me"
I was a racer...
At home, her father had prepared an entirely different extravagant surprise party for her.
