Chapter 18 - FAREWELL

After dinner we all disappeared into our rooms. I picked up a space ring I saw in my wardrobe and put all the necessary things for traveling.

I turned to Alicia and Angelina and said, " Dear roommates, I am sincerely sorry for what I am about to tell you. I….I know you'll all be shocked, but I'm leaving for the land of lost lands. Tomorrow."

Alicia gasped, "You will do no such thing."

"I will do such a thing. Look, I never meant for any of these to happen. The headmistress told me to bid everyone farewell," I said.

"Who else to bid," Angelina asked remorselessly.

"Don't you have a care in the world for Rachael? Angelina, you are a magician that gives life, a pacifist that loves peace.

How can you be so remorseless?" Alicia asked.

"Whatever," Angelina said.

"How sour, you are so callous, avaricious, inhumane.

I just can't find a word to describe how grim, how pitiless, how insensitive, inexorable, impenitent you are," Alicia said, almost losing her patience.

"That's okay," I interrupted. "I didn't ask anyone for pity. I never needed your pity and I posolutely don't need it now." I said and exited the room.

I walked down the dimly lit dormitory hallway into the dinning hall. The figure I had seen sometime ago was there again. I thought I'd say goodbye.

It had a feast before it, but I was in no mood to eat.

"Whoever you are, I just want to tell you that you might never see me ever again. I will not be able to help you like I had said.

I am a lady of my word, and if we ever happen to meet anon, I will live up to my word," I said and was about to go when I heard a voice.

"Wait," it sounded thin like a nightingale's voice.

"Did you say something?" I asked.

"Yes I did," the figure said and took off the hoodie.

It was a white haired freak, it looked much like a young lady.

"Nice meeting you, lady white," I said with a smile.

"Arthur Roosevelt is the name. What's your name?" he asked.

I shrugged. "No use of saying names."

"I told you my name," he said.

" I never asked, I could tell you a name, and you wouldn't know if it was really mine."

"Where do you come from then?"

"Same thing," I said. " You wouldn't know if I came from where I said."

"Then, why not tell?"

"I am Rachael Rodriguez from Galvadon," I said.

" Okay, so where are you going?" he asked.

"I will be leaving for the land of lost lands, tomorrow."

"That's sad."

"Yeah, I know. I might never come back, so I thought I'd say goodbye."

"Not forever."

"What do you mean," I asked curiously.

"Perhaps, you don't know. I am a wizard. I have been here three years before you got here and I learned the three call spell."

"What's that?"

"Follow me, I mean do what I do."

He put two fingers of his two hands together and concentrated on it.

"Then you call the person you want to speak to. From anywhere, so you can still talk to me," he said.

"Okay," I said.

"Why are you up at this time?" I asked curiously.

"I have insomnia. Why are you up at this time?"

"Same. Tell me, how did you get here?"

"I am the only son of the Roosevelt family in New Hampshire. I have one sister, Melissa.

I always felt my mom loved my sister more than I, and made it my life mission to destroy my sister.

My mom and dad loved me so much before she came along. I was twelve at that time and my sister was seven.

That trivial night, I made a plate of pasta and pepperoni for myself, but Melissa ate it.

I decided it was high time I expressed my anger ,so I took a knife and cut all the fingers of her hands.

I shaved her head clean, and beat her to the brink of death, then I delineated to my mom and dad that I hated them. Of course I was grounded.

The next day was Christmas, as mom and dad were decorating they suddenly remembered Melissa.

"Melissa," my father called. They searched everywhere, only to find her inside a tureen swimming in a bath of her own blood.

My mom and dad asked me if I knew about my sister's euthanasia, but I said I had no idea.

I left no trace of my sister's death and my ebbing.

On my way, I felt really drowsy and dizzy, when a portal opened above me and I appeared here.

After the talk we left the dining hall.

The next morning I left the school premises with the headmistress to a place that looked abandoned. She opened the book, read out some words and gave it back to me.
