The Barford siblings absolutely destroyed any opposition. First, they strangled them economically while sewing incredible internal conflict.
Foreign nobles didn't know who to trust. Sometimes even their most trusted butlers or retainers pointed their guns at them out of nowhere.
After so many decades of silence. Barford family showed everyone why they were qualified to rule almost half of the continent.
At some point, many people started to call it the Barford Empire. From humble merchant tribe into such a powerhouse.
The brief conflict barely made any waves. It baffled Morpheus a bit, but soon he understood.
In this world and place, there is only one powerhouse. No other power came close to their technology and the weapons they held.
Heck, except for weaponry such as tanks, early radars and radio communication. Morpheus planned to send the first satellite to space.
The planet he found himself in seemed to have no close planet neighbours. Hell, even the Moon seemed to change.
Although a bit blurry, he remembered more moons than what he could see now. To his confusion, no records documented it.
Moreover, very few people seemed interested in the skies and the celestial bodies. So, he wanted to send the satellite into the orbit at least.
To see how much the world differed. And as a bonus, he might be able to observe the entire world to create the map.
Every continent, composition of deserts, snow, ice, etc. He found the existence of deserts in myths as well.
Though, the Southern continent seemed to have a small desert.
...
"Prepare for ignition! 10... 9... 8... 7..." Said a scientist as he counted down the time before the entire world would change.
Morpheus watched through a black-and-white TV. He grumbled to himself for a bit about not working on coloured TVs.
In the end, he had to explore almost all fields alone. Some parts of the technological tree received help from other human talents.
Nevertheless, the speed at which Morpheus worked, thanks to his deep experience and intertwining knowledge, outperformed almost all of them combined.
He watched as the first satellite blasted into the sky. Before, they did many tests where they carried just the load to see if they could get into the orbit.
To his relief, after years of research, they did it. The people at the space HQ held their breaths as well.
Such a feat would have not crossed their minds if the world progressed normally. Now, they were part of something incredible.
And then, the fruit of their hard labour bloomed. The people cheered as Morpheus smiled to himself and added one of the accomplishments to his books.
He then decided to put almost all of his attention to the development of proper orbital stations.
To create a true base for globalization. Another set of years passed and this time, a much more advanced satellite left the world.
Over the years, they observed the space, but this one had a different mission. To circle around the planet and capture the entire world.
3 days later, the satellite transmitted the entire video of it circling around the planet. The video that was about to shake the human civilization and Morpheus.
...
Morpheus watched a scientist as they brought in the video. In the area, there were hundreds of people waiting to see what the world hides.
It began with the shot of the two main continents. Below it was a scattered landmass he presumed to be the Islands.
So far, the maps created agreed with the video. However, as the camera travelled to the mysterious south, they witnessed something incredible.
Volcanoes exploding in such mass that even they could see it from the space. Tsunamis at every corner with massive tornadoes forming seemingly out of nowhere.
The environment right beside the Empire seemed fine, and yet just a few hundred kilobars away, something incredible seemed to be happening.
The green mass wriggled! It seemed alive as it struggled against the environmental disasters.
Something even weirder made Morpheus' skin crawl. Explosions and a laser like blast appeared on a continent very far away from the two continents.
Around 5-3 thousand kilobars away from the main land. Nature showed her powers as she decimated everything.
Green landmass moved in waves like a sea while explosions, huge constructs attacked the green mass as well.
Compared to the army and technology Morpheus built. He feared that it would result in one thing.
Destruction of the two continents in 3 days! Not to mention Morpheus, the people around were panicking as well.
Something so close to them, separated just by water-. No, the green landmass had already arrived on the mainland.
5-6 thousand kilobars away from the Empire, the nature fought it as well! In fact, it seemed to struggle the most.
There, the constructs didn't appear to their relief. Morpheus didn't doubt for a second that if they found this place.
Those things would be able to arrive in no time. Even pixelated with poor quality. It hit him like a truck.
Some denied the reality of such things, nonetheless, Morpheus didn't. Or rather, he couldn't.
His very existence proved that such things weren't totally out of the realm of reality and, as such, he had to change everything.
The next day, the three superpowers met Morpheus and the Barford family to discuss what would happen next.
They decided against telling the wide public lest some madmen create a cult that would make everything much more difficult.
Right there and then they came to a conclusion. None of the leaders were fools and they could see that whatever the mass did would certainly not spare them.
They didn't dare try at least.
2 days since the massive discovery, a massive news shocked the world. The Barford family gave everyone on the spirit continent an ultimatum.
Join or perish! After the showcase of power. They swiftly united the entire continent in just a month.
They crushed anyone who dared to resist even a bit to smithereens. Such actions went against anyone's knowledge of the Barford family.
They then declared themselves a Divine Empire. As a response, the three superpowers went into a war against the Divine Barford Empire.
Such fast development shocked any expert in the modern times. Out of nowhere, in just a month, the entire landscape of the world changed.
Friends turned into enemies, and resources began to pour into war machines endlessly.
Then, when the Barford Empire kept winning on the seas. A dozen of core researchers turned into traitors.
They defected and stole precious technology. Suddenly, the tides changed. The three superpowers began to catch up with the Divine Barford Empire.
Citizens of every faction got bombarded by propaganda. All of this because of Morpheus' plan.
...
"Morpheus, this plan is crazy! I won't just stand and watch if you decide to do something so drastic!" said an Emperor of the now recovered Empire.
Although he felt grateful for the Barfords bailing out the Empire and cleaning out the filth he had a problem with.
The notion of the plan would turn it right back into its previous state, or even worse!
"Do you think that we have time, Daniel? If we just poured endless resources into the military for no reason. The reality would soon surface, because the higher ups would have to know why we are doing this." Morpheus said before he took a deep breath.
"I understand why you are worried. Still, we need to accelerate the progress at any cost. Those things might arrive in a thousand years or in the next decade." He said as his voice filled the room with tensions.
Some in the room didn't agree with Morpheus. He, out of nowhere, turned into someone so radical.
The calm spirit that guided endless souls now seemed like a broken man. Even, he didn't know why he feared the green mass and constructs.
Like a calling from the depths of his soul. Were he come into contact with them, his 'invincibility' might change real quick.
As if he saw his natural born predator. Morpheus felt pure disgust against the green mass.
In fact, all the scientists in the room who saw the video felt a tinge of repulsion as well. The feeling engulfed the leaders too when they witnessed the video.
So, they agreed. To turn the entire human race into a war machine that prepared for the doomsday.
Except that everyone else would see it as a war between humans. Morpheus proposed to give the other countries full access to his own technology.
If they surpassed him, then so be it. The Barfords reluctantly agreed as well. Everyone trusted the 'threat' of the weird mass.
Morpheus just made such a remark, but deep inside, he was more thankful that everyone cooperated.
Soon enough, after the first war. He proposed to turn it into a cold war. Weapon race that citizens would agree with after they see the effects of the first war.
With abundant resources. Morpheus swore to himself that he would at least create nuclear weapons before they met.
If centuries were to pass. He didn't mind turning to weapons that would turn the entire world into a paste.
Everything so he would never see 'that' in his life.
