"I think that this will be enough," Zou Zeming did not wish to partake in the squabble of girls but when he saw that Qi Qiao who was the cause of this entire fuss was raising her hand to slap Xua Ying Yue, he could not stop himself from making a move. It was not that he had any wish to play the role of knight in shining armour but because of the small argument which had become rather big, Xua Ying Yue was now dripping with water and Xua Yenay was wiping the water off her sister's clothes which was why neither of them had the time to stop the hand which was raised to slap Xua Ying Yue.
This was why he had to step in and stop Qi Qiao who was taking things way too far.
Qi Qiao paled, she had never imagined that the young boy whom she had been eyeing ever since she walked into the restaurant would be the one to stop her. She looked at his delicate yet muscular fingers and then pursed her lips, her eyes which were glaring at Xua Ying Yue turned red and she could not stop the tears from falling.
She came to this restaurant to have fun but instead, she was the one who was made fun of! She snatched her hand from Zou Zeming and then glared at Jia Lu Li fiercely before she said in a snappish voice, " I think it goes without saying that we are no longer friends?"
Though she said that she did not make any attempt of taking out the money from her purse instead she pushed her chair harshly against the floor and then walked out of the restaurant, while Fang Jiayi followed after her with a sharp harumph.
Jia Lu Li watched them leave, no one knew what she was thinking but after a few seconds, she opened her mouth and then called the names of the two young girls, " Qi Qiao! Fang Jiayi!"
Qi Qiao who was leaving felt her heart bloom when she heard Jia Lu Li's voice, in fact, she too did not want to break her friendship with Jia Lu Li, the latter was rich and a fool who would spend money on people who were willing to accompany her like she was washing hands with money.
But for the sake of saving her face, she said those harsh words to make it look like such that she was not dying to be friends with Jia Lu Li and that she was enough to support herself but inside she was dying to reconcile with Jia Lu Li, after all, where else she will get another one of this free meal ticket? However, Jia Lu Li had embarrassed her just now, how can she even think of sucking up to her?
Now that Jia Lu Li had taken the initiative, she was going to show some hesitation and then agree to her suggestion of becoming friends with each other again. As she turned around she shot a proactive look to Xua Ying Yue who raised a brow and then turned to look at Jia Lu Li as she spoke in a haughty voice, " What?"
She thought that Jia Lu Li was going to ask for forgiveness and tell her to not be angry with her but instead, Jia Lu Li went against her expectations and she heard the young woman whose face was slightly chubby say, " That jacket leave it behind, I can still return it for half the price."
What a joke, she called her fat and embarrassed her—— to make things worse she even threw a tantrum in front of her like she was the one who was making a ruckus. No matter how soft-tempered Jia Lu Li was she could not help but get angry at Qi Qiao.
If the latter had lowered her head and apologised sincerely, she would have forgiven her but instead of forgiveness, Qi Qiao showed her temper and made it sound like she was the one who wronged her.
Qi Qiao did not expect that the ever soft-tempered Jia Lu Li would say something so harsh, for a minute she did not know what to say but when she saw the eyes of the people sitting in the restaurant go even more contemptuous—— her face flushed red in shame.
" So what if you bought me a jacket?" She took the fiery red jacket off and threw it on the table next to her, Qi Qiao wanted to throw it on the ground but she was afraid that Jia Lu Li will ask her to pay for the damage in anger which was why she threw the jacket on the table instead of the floor. " Here you go, take your stinky jacket!"
With that, she turned on her heels and left the restaurant but as she walked out, her eyes could not help but fall on the red jacket and her heart started to prick with needles causing it to bleed. That jacket was something that she wanted very much because its price was really high —— her mother refused to buy it for her.
It had taken a lot of effort on her side to butter up Jia Lu Li to buy that jacket for her, she was dreaming about going to college dressed in that red jacket and basking in the many reverent and envious gazes but instead, she became the butt of a poor joke.
Qi Qiao looked at Xua Ying Yue who was standing beside her sister and her eyes turned red but this time it was out of anger instead of being aggrieved——— this was all her fault, even though she could not touch Jia Lu Li, that did not mean that she will not be able to touch that girl, she remembered seeing that girl in the campus of the college which she was going to attend, that girl better hope she was well aware of what she had done because once she starts college, Qi Qiao swore she was going to make life living hell for her!
