" How many times have I told you, you should mind yourself with such things, just leave it to me and I will do it for you," Xua Yenay chided her sister as soon as she walked inside the apartment and found Xua Ying Yue cooking. She looked at the egg-fried rice that was cooking in the old wok and then turned to look at her sister who was standing in front of the stove.
" Ying Yue, you should use your hands to write and study more, sister is still banking on you to become the top author and then sell your first book. Once we earn a lot of money then we will hire a nanny who will cook for us, till then you eat the dried snacks and leave everything else to sister… I will come back and cook for you, all right?" Xua Yenay reached out to hold Xua Ying Yue's arm but mistakenly she touched the area that has been burned by Lu Biya in the afternoon causing Xua Ying Yue to let out a hiss as she snatched her hand from her sister.
Her action caused Xua Yenay to frown as she stretched her hand and immediately caught hold of her sister's arm and undid the button of the cuff and rolled the long sleeves shirt that her sister was wearing and as soon as she rolled the cuff, she saw a white bandage wrapped around Xua Ying Yue's arms, seeing this Xua Yenay's frown deepened and she looked at her sister with heartache in her eyes.
" What happened? Did someone hurt you? If so you should let a sister know, I will talk to your teacher then, all right?" She told Xua Ying Yue who shook her head and calmly replied, " I just splattered some oil on my arm while I was cooking and got myself burned and nothing else sister."
Xua Ying Yue knew that even if her sister went to school nothing will come out of it, Teacher Ke did not care about her and only knew how to suck up to Lu Biya and the others, even if Xua Yenay complains to him, he will only embarrass her sister and then tattle to Lu Biya and the others. She did not want the matter to escalate, she only need to hold on for this one year and she will be able to get away from this bullying, it is for just one year…. And even this year was coming to an end.
As long as she continues to lower her head and do nothing then she will be able to get away from those bullies, maybe they will even forget about her and even if they don't then she will deal with them on her own. There was no need for her to alarm her sister about something like this.
Xua Yenay only felt more upset when she heard this, she sent Xua Ying Yue to study while she walked over to the kitchen and started pouring some water into the wok when the rice started to stick to the pot.
While Xua Yenay worked on the egg rice, Xua Ying Yue walked to the study table and opened her laptop on which she started watching a tutorial, she stared at the screen while her hands started to write everything that the man in the video was telling her. Once everything was noted down, she looked down at the list of things that were required to make a spy pen camera and bit her lip, a part of her did not want to do this—- she knew that there was no need for her to go as low as her bullies.
But a part screamed at her wanting to retaliate somehow and you know what? That part won that night.

Xua Ying Yue thought that Tan Jing will stop coming to look for her if she was to stay away from Lu Cheng but the thing was that even though she never saw Lu Cheng for three weeks straight, Tan Jing continued to look for her. She would hit, punch and burn her with cigar butts every time she got her cornered, at first Xua Ying Yue did not want to save the videos that she recorded but bit by bit, the monster in her heart started to grow and every time she would come back home, she will save the videos that her spy camera has recorded in her laptop and cloud.
She did not know what she was going to do with these videos yet but Xua Ying Yue continued to collect them. She could, of course, release them but she knew that these videos will be removed from the hot search by Tan Jing's mother before they can even reach the public.
So, releasing them was no good ….then why was she saving them like a pervert? Xua Ying Yue did not know, she only knew that every time she looked at the video of herself getting thrashed by Tan Jing, the fire in her heart continued to smoulder and the fiercer it grew the more Xua Ying Yue's morality started to melt with it.
One month later …
" So, there will be an inter-school competition on literature writing! Anyone interested should hand out their names to me," The language literature teacher, Miss Yan announced in the class as she smiled at the students and continued speaking, " The one who wins this competition will be awarded by the elders of our country's literature department, it's one in a lifetime opportunity make sure that you do not miss it."
Xua Ying Yue looked at Miss Yan with a burning gaze as she looked at the notice that has been pasted behind Miss Yan on the bulletin board next to the blackboard. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, this was what she wanted! This was exactly was she was waiting for! As long as the piece on which she has been working for so long gets selected then she will certainly …certainly change the course of her life.
Back then Xua Ying Yue did not know that the piece will definitely change the trajectory of her life but not for the best but for the ….worse.
