Chapter 8 - The Mysterious Disappearance

A long time was passed with the silence. Anik finally decides to go down.

'' Its been a while with the silence and I can not see aunt anymore i should go and check out, and try to find out who is she and where she went."

He went down along the decreasing stairs while maintaining silence and reached the floor of the ground state, the floor was cold and a bit rusty the grittiness of floor can be felt by his feet.

" Looks like she never washed the floor" he said

As he reached the ground floor, Anik took a look around. The room was dimly lit with only a few candles, and it seemed that the house was constructed solely out of wood and stone. The kitchen was small and attached to the hallway, with a well-decorated archway leading into it. The shelves were left uncovered, and everything was neatly arranged.

There was a room and an entry door in the hall with few wall hanging candle lamps and a two windows at both side of the main door which were covered with white curtains.

"Aha, looks like this is her room maybe she is sleeping."

His eyes fell upon a figure lying on the bed. "Aunt, are you okay? Do you need any help? Why are you sleeping in the dark?" Anik asked, his concern palpable in his voice.

However, there was no response Anik decided to get a candle from the hallway so he could see better. But as he entered the hallway and picked up a candle, it fell from his hand, and his eyes widened in horror.

Lying on the bed was his mother's corpse. "How could this be? Why is she here? Is this some kind of trap?" Anik was terrified and decided he needed to leave. As he turned to run out of the house, he was met with an even more horrific sight.

The entire house was floating above a deep, dark chasm, and there was no ground beneath his feet. Anik stumbled backward in fear as the door slammed shut, trapping him inside.

Panic-stricken, Anik tried to run towards the kitchen door, but the whole hall flipped upside down, and blood began to flow from his wounds. The walls began to shift, changing shape and character, water from his body dried up his eyes were sluggish his vision was getting blurry and Anik desperately searched for water as he became increasingly thirsty.

Eventually, he stumbled upon an earthen pot on the stove, which was the only thing that remained unchanged. The blood-soaked kitchen became the only safe haven for Anik, and he wondered if he would ever be able to leave this horrific place alive.

"I have to get out of here, I have to or I'll be killed again" covered by fear he said these.

Anik's thirst was intense and overpowering. As he looked around in desperation, his eyes fell upon an earthen pot simmering on the stove. He made his way to the kitchen and lifted the cloth to reveal a sparkling red liquid inside. Though a sense of foreboding overtook him, his parched throat screamed for moisture. Without any further thought, he drank the entire contents of the pot in a few gulps.

As the last drop slid down his throat, he let out a sigh of relief. But the relief was short-lived. Suddenly, blood erupted from his mouth and he fell to the ground, writhing in agony. His vision became blurry, and his body felt weak and numb. He knew something was terribly wrong and that his life was slipping away. As he took his final breath, he saw the room around him twisting and morphing, taking on grotesque forms. And then, everything went black.
