"I don't know what to answer you with, Aira," Vir said then. "Like you, I have the same questions about Phyro. You know, ever since I was a kid, I've always idolized and admired our hero. And now..."
Vir sighed heavily again. Then he got up, leaving the bed with the plate beside him to one of the tables.
"Would you like a drink?" he asked the little girl.
Aira shook her head weakly. Vir went back to her and sat down again on her right side.
"Aira, listen―"
"My mother once said," Aira said with a blank stare at the wall in front of her. "Lady Dyara is her half-sister."
Vir was quite surprised to hear that. And of course, what they had previously heard from the emperor and Magnius the Mighty had broken the little girl's heart, he thought.
Even more so, if what they had heard was the truth. Imagine that!
Vir let out a long sigh.
In other words, Lady Dyara was an aunt to Aira. Wouldn't that be very painful?
