Although riding a dragon, especially of the Sky Dragon species―Dracael and Wyvern, could shorten the travel time from one place to a distant place, Vir had never done that so far.
Vir had his own reasons. First, he did not ride a dragon in order to keep his job as a hunter of riders under wraps. If he had to ride a dragon, he was worried that he wouldn't be able to do what he wanted more easily.
Secondly, owning a dragon is the same as owning a horse, you have to give your mount attention, care, and food. Vir has no guarantee for that.
But this time was different, with a Bald Wyvern loaned to him by Raemon, Vir flew through the night sky towards the North Country.
At least, Vir was sure he would reach the land by noon tomorrow, that is if he did not dismount to give his dragon mount time to rest.
