Aira sat dreamily with her chin resting on the window frame, looking out at the sun that was just a few moments away from ultimately setting on the western horizon.
"Are you bored?" the emperor asked her.
However, the nine-year-old girl simply ignored the question as if she hadn't heard it at all.
The emperor giggled. "Oh, my little sister. Why are you daydreaming, dear?"
"Don't bother me," Aira said then. "Leave me alone."
"You know," said the emperor. "Watching the sun go down won't do anything for you."
"I don't care!"
"Miss Aira," said the maid near the little girl. "Don't speak harshly to Her Majesty."
The emperor winked at the maid. "There is no need," she said.
The maid lowered her head and moved slightly away from the little girl.
