"What is she doing now?" the emperor asked the maids accompanying her. "Have you done what I told you to do before?"
"That girl is ignoring us, Your Majesty," replied one of the maids. "She just stayed silent, said nothing, didn't even touch the food we had prepared for her."
"I see, huh?"
The emperor then left the room accompanied by ten maids.
Meanwhile, Aira sat leaning against a tree in the South Garden, a few Imperial Soldiers standing guard at distant points.
"What happened to me?" she murmured as she looked at her hands. "What did that lady do to me?"
The nine-year-old girl still did not realize that her abilities could not be activated as long as she wore the unique necklace. The necklace itself was made of gold with gemstone embellishments, looking like ordinary jewelry, just like the bracelets on her hands and feet.
