Joseph, though a Captain of the Kamu Community was not a beast as thought to be. He was a man that hoped for better things, loved peace and hated human torture. Back at the Kamu Kingdom, the Princess was doing everything to ensure that what she had heard from Jessica was told to her by the King himself.
Though the King was her brother, Dorothy knew that if she told him of her source, not even she could hold his rage towards Jessica and the maidens. An idea came to Dorothy that, the only way to win was to play the King’s game. She had to join in his game but she still had a problem of how to do it.
Thought after thought, she finally had the way in. Since she was away, she used this to do the magic. As a woman, she knew a man’s best moments is also his weakest as well. She started by praising his reign over those that she had come across during her tour. She also added that, her wish was to see him rule even a greater Kingdom.
“You know brother, I have toured a couple of Kingdoms but believe you me, I have not seen one that rule better than you. You stand top of the list,” said Princess Dorothy.
“Ooh sister, how good of you to say this to me. I feel motivated and ready to achieve even greater in the days to come. Since I became King, none has whispered such melody to my ear canal. Indeed, you are a true leader to these people. You have proven beyond doubt, the power in our royal blood,” replied King Martin.
“I tell you brother, as much as the people don’t say it, they know it and love you as the King. I know this for; I spend most of the time with them listening to hear the rumors about my King,” Dorothy continued.
“As a King, I am honored to have a Princess and a sister like you. You are the best and suitable Princess these people could ever have. May we rule to greater heights… and, may the dream of us in rule of Kamu and Lampa Kingdom come true,” said the King.
“That’s right brother, in fact, King Kang’ethe is old and on his way to the grave. This could be a chance for us to rule both Kingdoms because, after all, Lampa has no heir to the throne,” said Dorothy to the brother.
“What a prayer my sister and, I believe the gods have heard it and are in our favor. You know, at first I thought that, you as my sister and the Princess could become jealous of me and try to disagree with me. I am now certain you are by my side at all times. Thank you Dorothy, I surely trust in you,” said Martin to the sister.
“Too bad you thought of me like that brother, but, I am your blood sister. We share more than just power and royalty. We are one and shall rule as one,” replied Dorothy.
After they had the talk, Dorothy was now certain that she had built her trust to the brother. She knew he would finally crack. Indeed, the King was overwhelmed by the words from her. He decided to do the honorable thing, to apologize to her for lying and tell her the truth about his plans. He opened up and told her of it all, requested her support to its success, and with many promises to her.
“You know sister; I am really moved by those words that you have just spoken to me. I never thought I could trust you this much but that leaves me no choice,” said Martin to Dorothy.
“Why do you say this brother? It is not that you had done something wrong, no! It was just you being a King to these people,” mentioned Dorothy.
“I get you sister, but I have to apologize to you. I lied to you about the Captain’s whereabouts. For this… I hope you will forgive me,” said Martin.
“What are you talking about brother? Where is the Captain? Tell me, did anything happen to him while I was away?” asked Dorothy.
“No sister. Nothing happened to the Captain. He is very well and actually, I sent him to Lampa to ask Kang’ethe to give up his rule to us. Don’t you see that he is too old to be King?” explained Martin.
“You almost got me worried there brother. Why did you have to lie to me at first? That is a good idea, but be assured Kang’ethe will not do such thing. What are you to do if that’s the case?” persisted Dorothy.
“I feared that you might be against it. It seems I was all wrong about you sister,” replied Martin.
“Of course brother, you were wrong,” supported Dorothy.
“Forgive me for doubting your royalty and loyalty. You know, I sent the Captain to Kang’ethe not because he is to honor the request, no. I did it as an opportunity to save his people much trouble and the bloodshed. If he is to turn down this request, I am to fight my way to his throne. He’d better accept this offer,” underscored Martin to the sister.
“I thought you are not willing to go all the way. Now you are talking brother. We surely need this rule. After all, Lampa has more wealth than we do, and I am tired of having to buy everything from them. It’s time we got control over this wealth,” buttressed Dorothy.
“I am happy to know that you are by my side, sister, and for this, I promise to give you the rule of Kamu so that we can enjoy this rule together. Our father would have been so much proud of you if he were alive today to see the leader you have become,” approaching her, “Come… let’s celebrate this success,” applauded Martin.
“Thank you brother, I am proud of you as my brother as well. May the gods grant us our wishes and may we rule to greater heights together. Long live us brother!” yearned Dorothy.
After that dialogue, Dorothy had beaten her brother in his own game. She now had what she wanted for own plans to work suitably. The Captain had already met the warrior sent by Martin in wait for them and got the message. Upon arrival back, the King was eagerly waiting for them. He knew that, even if the King of Lampa had rejected his request, he was now free to organize for the attack.
He welcomed them back and told them to forget what they had been told by the warrior. This was because; the Princess was in favor of his plan, therefore, he did not need to keep it a secret from her anymore. Later, the Captain told the King of the response from Kang’ethe, but Martin did not have to worry about anything. His next move was to organize the warriors into troops and ready for the attack against Lampa Kingdom. In his mind was him already a conqueror and very vivid.
