Sebastian's Point of View...
These are the lessons I have learned in life...
It's been two weeks since Jasmine says she wanted to quit. But I am not letting her go that easy since she is the only one who ever looked at me with annoyance. And her ignorance made me feel like I am young again. Some will say I am not that old but has so much work that is turning me into an old man. Being the only sole heir of my father's company, I decide that there is more to life than drinking and having 'fun' in university, so my father arranged my marriage with Clover since he wanted me to 'grow up and have responsibilities ever since mom died.
But as we get to know each other I grow to love her a year after Mia was born, but she grows to love someone (never trust someone, who turns their backs on their family). She left with her lover during the day and leave Mia at my bed edge at the hospital. I guess that was the first learning in life.
After she left my drinking became harder and my father had to take Mia from me for a couple of months that's when I went off the grid because I was in rehab. Not seeing her make me reflect on my life choices and it hurt.
As I stare at the clock, Just When I Needed You Most by Randy Van Warmer came to my mind. Then I started mumbling the song.
You packed in the morning; I stared out the window.
And I struggled for something to say.
You left in the rain without closing the door.
I didn't stand in your way.
Now I miss you more than I missed you before.
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows.
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most.
Left me just when I needed you most.
Now most every morning, I stare out the window
And I think about where you might be
I've written you letters that I'd like to send
If you would just send one to me
'Cause I need you more than I needed before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Left me just when I needed you most
You packed in the morning, I stared out the window
And I struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn't stand in your way
Now I love you more than I loved you before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Oh yeah, you left me just when I needed you most
You left me just when I needed you most
I needed her at that time because I got in an accident at that time, and she just left. Leaving me in the hospital with our baby at the bed edge playing with her toys. How could she do that? After everything I've done for her and for being a faithful husband; I guess that did not matter so I decided that when I became heartless. That was I learned the second lesson in life... Be careful to who you give your heart.
Flashback....
When I woke up in the hospital, I look around and there was my daughter on the floor playing with her doll.
"Good afternoon Mr. Rae, I am doctor Reed and you have been in an accident, you broke your left leg and suffered a concussion, but you will be ok. Just get some rest and oh...here is a note your wife left, here" he said as he hands the paper.
As I read the note tears broke out on my face and when I look at my daughter that's when I broke down. But like a guardian Angel...my dad walks in, and I look at him and cried and hugged him tightly and he hugged me back.
Flashback ended...
My dad agreed to take care of Mia until I was out of the hospital. I didn't want to burden them with Mia since she was my responsibility, but I was in no shape to take care of her. I was depressed when Clover left, and I got medication. I went back to my dad's house and stayed there for a while. I stayed in my room; I didn't come out for days and my mom would bring food and I wouldn't eat it. Dad brought Mia into my room, and I saw her, for the first time in a long time, I held her, and she smiled and kissed her cheek and cried and held her and promised her that I will always be there for her and will never leave her.
After I got back on my feet and left my parents' house and took Mia, I rented an apartment and started working at my dad's company until I got my first pay and bought a house and moved there with Mia. A couple of months passed, and I was doing good, and Mia was crawling and walking, my dad would call and check up on me. My dad soon retired and then I became the heir of the company. I put the company in a different view, and I build it up until the company was the biggest. There were times when I wanted to go back to my old ways, but I remember the promise I made to Mia. The promise was that I would always be there for her and that whatever happens to me, I should not go back to my old ways. So, I didn't, I worked hard and. I was sad but I didn't show it so I put up this cold aura so I wouldn't let anyone come near me. The third lesson I learned was to always care for my daughter and never go back to my old ways.
