“What for?” Jeanne asked as she raised the document in her hand, looking into Xena's for an answer.
She furrowed her brows, when Xena kept mute, putting her into silence.
“Xena, am I waiting for your explanation,”
“The king needs a translator that can translate French into our language,” She replied in a curt.
“Okay, how did you want to see a French translator? Since you can't possibly ask the queen to help, she is the only one that can read French, being a princess,” Jeanne said.
“Not the Queen, the king thinks one of the maids might know how to read French,” Xena said, and Jeanne burst into laughter.
“Why are you laughing?” Xena said, giving her a questioning look.
“Why would the king think those wackos would be able to read the French language? They can't even read our mother language, Jeanne said, smiling.
“Don't forget you could have been one of them, the wackos, if I hadn't taught you how to read our language,” Xena said bluntly.
