Chapter 10- Arrow 2
Alpha Malik looked intently at Aurora, whose eyes were closed, he withdrew his arrow and shot the target tree instead.
A chorused excitement escaped the mouth of the stand-by guards, while some were bittered that the king didn't shoot Aurora.
"Bull eyes" they chorused cheerfully.
"Tie her to the target tree," Alpha Malik said in his icy tone, neglecting their appraisal.
Aurora blinked her eyes slowly as she opened wide, her heart raced nervously, and as Evans dragged her to the tree, Aurora found her leg too heavy to move, though Evans was dragging her to the target tree.
He's going to do awful things to her, he might kill her, as much as Aurora wished to, but she still feared this near death. She couldn't take the fear out of her bones right now, It crept her out.
She wished she could die without her knowing she was going to die, knowing she wanted to die is a torture.
She raised her eyebrows and looked stylishly at Alpha Malik, she lowered her eyes immediately, she was unable to withstand the pain and death flicking in those eyes, she wished to see the charming face of old Alpha Malik, who loves to smile at her dry jokes.
Evans tied her to the target tree," Enjoy your slow and brutal death" Evans whispered to her ears, even as he spoke, Aurora felt his voice annoyed, she raised frowned eyebrows at him.
"You are forbidden to hit her with the arrow, we are here to torture her not to kill her," Alpha Malik said in a low growl to Jericho, and he nodded his head, he wished to pierce the arrow into Aurora's skull.
Aurora gulped hard, and breathed deeply severally, reassuring herself that everything will be alright, though she was unable to calm down the nervousness.
She's scared like a kitten, upon the training she has undergone, seeing Alpha Malik has imposed fear on her.
She could feel her head spinning, her breath coming out hot yet she is assuring herself things will be okay.
Jericho flicked his finger, and notified Evans to take two steps away from the target tree.
"She must not close her eyes, if she did, I will hit the arrow into her skull" Jericho sounded in a tone that frightened the hearers.
Alpha Malik eyed him and gave him a questioning look.
"It will be fun this way" Jerich replied Alpha Malik, understanding his looked, Malik looked away after his response which gave Jericho a go-ahead
He aimed his arrow and directed it over Aurora's head, she fretted hoping the arrow would hit her, suddenly Jericho changed the direction of the arrow and shot the middle, but the arrow pierced beside her, and a slight sigh escaped her mouth.
"Bull eyes" the stand-by guard chorused, Aurora looked at Jericho with a disdained gaze, she wished she had the know how evil he was, she might have killed him before now.
Malik seeing the frightened Aurora, gave him this feeling that he didn't understand. He was not sure whether he was happy or not, though he didn't reflect in his eyes, he had an expressionless gaze.
He signaled the guard with the arrow to give him one, and the guard gave him one and lowered his head.
He fixed the arrow into the bow, he stopped Evans who want to tightened Aurora rope, he didn't know why he stop it, but he thought Aurora might die panicking and her death is not welcome by him presently, he want her to be torture.
He drew the Arrow and aimed to shoot the target, but the more he looked at Aurora in the middle, the more he wished to strike her with the arrow, eventually, it pierced Aurora's leg, and a sharp moaned pain escaped her mouth.
"Arrrrrrrgh", she screamed
Malik looked shocked, the anger snapped out of his head, he met to impose fear into Aurora not to hurt her, his head overruled him, by letting the anger overrule him. He couldn't control the anger and he struck her.
Jericho stood beside him, feeling happy that his brother just confirmed the truthfulness of his statements, he said he would hurt her to death. With this action of his, indeed he has made up his mind to hurt Aurora, the thought alone made Jericho elated.
Evans stared at Aurora, feeling pity for her, he didn't know why, but he felt sympathy for her, blood was oozing out from the leg, Aurora winced in pain, she looked at Alpha with a bittered gaze, she didn't know why but her blood was boiling with anger.
Evans moved forward to where Alpha Malik stood, he lowered his head and paid obeisance to him.
"Greetings! My lord", the slave leg is bleeding.
"Should Alpha come and take care of her? You are just too dumb, let her bleed to death, no one should attend to her except you wished a death warrant" Jericho yelled in his highest pitch of the tone.
"I'm sorry my king, I didn't mean that," Evan said , shuddering.
"Sorry for yourself, I thought the arrow struck her heart not her leg, but soon Alpha arrow will hit her heart, just the way she killed our father," Jericho said in an icy tone.
"Get out of here!" Jericho uttered.
Evans scurried from their presence and walked towards Aurora who was still tied to the tree. Blood was seeping from her leg to the ground.
He loosened Aurora from the tree, she writhed in pain as she fell to the ground, she pulled out the arrow from her leg herself with gritted teeth.
Aurora looked at Malik and lowered her head, her heart hurt more than the leg, though she knew Malik hated her, but she didn't want to accept the hatred, she believed there was still a spot in his heart that cared for her previous personal maid.
The pierced arrow proved her wrong, she concluded there is no space for her in his heart again, all he felt towards her is hatred, the thought hurt her more than the leg.
She had tried to adapt to the suffering, believing there is still a space for her in Alpha Malik's heart, she thought he didn't want to see her hurt, maybe that's why he refused to see her in the dungeon for five months, but today and the day he slapped her proved her believed wrong. Her heart ached badly accepting the truth.
The stand-by guard gawked at her, with a mockery glanced. Alpha Malik left the training field including Jericho and the guards, Evans looked back feeling pity towards Aurora, she was on the ground wincing in pain.

After he had scribbled down lots of information, his hand ached and he decided to come out to the verandah, he arranged the scribbled scroll neatly and walked out gently to the Verandah.
He stood outside the Verandah, and the thought of Aurora arose in his mind, he couldn't deny the fact that he wanted to know if she had been able to crawl out of the field, he believed Evans had a soft spot for her, he might have rescued her.
Though he might rebuke Evans for helping his enemy, still he wanted Evan to help her, so that he would be able to torture her for a long time before she will die.
After some minutes of exploring the verandah, Alpha Malik decided to go back into his chamber but Aurora thought still lingered in his mind, so he decided to see what had become of her.
He walked to the training field, his widened pAurora's collapsed body welcomed his gaze, hurriedly he moved toward where she laid, nervously, he stretched his finger to her nostrils, wanting to confirm if she's still alive.
