Theo lay on the floor grimacing, he was flabbergasted by Andrew's swift action while his nose bled profusely. He was immediately rushed to the school's clinic for treatment. Some minutes later, Theo , Nina and Andrew were at the principal's office.
" Who started the fight"? The principal asked, but none of them answered, but just stared at each other.
" Alright, none of you want to answer me. Nina, can you brief me on what happened " The principal said.
" Something that involved Theo and I came up, so, I wanted to speak with Theo concerning it, but it all led to Theo slapping me. He was about to slap me again, when Andrew came to my rescue. But then he punched Andrew and Andrew punched him back. That was all that happened " Nina explained.
" From all you've said, what I understand is that you were the victim. And as for you Andrew, I am disappointed in you. Anyway I've Informed your parents , " the Principal concluded.
"But Andrew did nothing by coming to my aid " Nina interrupted.
" He was involved in the fight, or should I put it this way, he fought with Theophilus and that's really wrong " the Principal defended.
Some minutes later, Mrs. Johnson stormed in, cursing under her breadth.
" Good day Ma " The principal greeted.
" Good day " Mrs. Johnson replied sharply.
" So, my son fought with a guy, right"? Mrs. Johnson asked, and from where they were seated Andrew could hear the seriousness in Mrs. Johnson' s tone. Nina looked at Andrew and she could see the goosebumps that filled him body. There was a sad look on his face as he squeezed his fingers hard.
Theo on the other hand couldn't believe his Aunt took it this far, she even informed his parents. It was this serious because it involved Nina, his fiancée-to- be. Nina on the other hand felt sad for Andrew. He only tried to save her from the mess she got herself into, but then he also got himself in trouble. His mother must be really mad at him. After a few minutes of discussing with the principal, Mrs. Johnson stood up from her seat and walked towards Andrew. In the twinkle of an eye, Mrs. Johnson slapped Andrew across the face.
" Is this how you'll achieve being a revered father, huh, I am so disappointed in you Andrew " she said and left the room. Everybody were shocked by her action, including the principal herself.
" You may leave now " The principal ordered, and the three of them trooped out of the principal's office. For the first time, Theo felt remorse for the trouble he caused. Perhaps, Marlia really had her payback.
Andrew went outside to receive fresh air, he felt bad about how his mother treated the issue. She couldn't even understand or defend him, he felt really disappointed in her. Nina spied at him from a distance.
" It's all my fault he's crestfallen. I put him in trouble " she sighed and walked towards Andrew. He was singing when she approached him and sat next to him.
" Um...I'm sorry for what happened to you today " Andrew apologized.
" ...no..no it's all my fault not yours. I put you in this mess, you were just trying to be a good friend. I'm sorry " Nina interrupted.
" It's okay, no one knew it would turn out like this anyway " Andrew consoled.
" I'm really sorry about what your mum did today, now she's mad at you " Nina apologized sadly.
" There's no need for that. She's always like that, she drives me crazy. She centers my life on being a revered father, but that's not my problem. My problem is that she gives me a hard time. I would do what she wants me to do; if she allows me to do what I love " Andrew complained sadly.
" You can do what you love, you Know" Nina said.
" That's not possible " Andrew remarked.
" Well, there's a way. You know the school is having a musical concert before spring break " Nina said.
"...so "? Andrew asked.
" You could perform " Nina snapped her fingers to emphasize.
" There's no way that's gonna happen " Andrew hesitated.
" Think about it my friend " Nina smiled and stood to her feet.
" Gotta go. You should consider my advice and perform. It's an opportunity you shouldn't miss " Nina patted him or his shoulder and left, leaving Andrew to ponder on what she said.
