I don't know if you ever experienced that feeling of having to run as if your life depended on it.

But I had not had to resort to that resource of using my legs other than to walk until that day.

Yes, this is how you read it. My legs were essentially used for walking like the rest of the civilized people in the city.

Never to save my skin

The air hit my face fiercely and although I looked like a dog soaked in the sweat that poured from my body, the breeze produced by the speed had an impact reminding me why I was running like a runaway horse.

I couldn't stop, or that meant lurching myself to the ground.

And the least I needed was to have my face taste like worn-out shoes.

The speed increased every second that passed in the same movement.

My legs moved aware of what was happening around me but trembled asking for a break.

Rest that I could not give them - at least not for now -

Forward, backward, up and down.
