I stretch my forelimb and utter a low groan. My whole body feels like every drop of life essence was sucked away.
"What the hell happened?" I didn't recognize my voice, it sounded dry like someone who hadn't tasted water in days.
As I sit to recall, the memories come back in a wisp. I was attacked, probably by the native tribes of that island.
Jason enters with Perez talking behind him.
"She's not going to wake up if you keep checking on her every..." Pérez peeps over Jason's shoulders. "Would you look at that, she's awake. I guess your persistence wouldn't let her soul take a break"
"What happened?" I croak out.
"You fainted"
Huh? I fainted.
"I fainted? Are you sure I wasn't attacked? Before I passed out–"
"It was the seed of the tree we were standing under, you fainted. Low sugar levels"
So much for a vacation. I almost ended up dying, stupid Jason.
"I can tell you're cussing me in your head. How about you take a shower and then come to the dining to eat"
