High up in the air, there was a heavenly qi staged cultivator looking intently at the situation below. Riding on a cloud and dressed in brown, this was the ordinary and disinterested cultivator. Currently his face was scrunched up, as he looked at the scene below. His hands continuously clenched and unclenched, prepared for action. At one point, he stood up, prepared to act, but then sat back down.
"Wow, this babysitting task is a lot harder than I imagined." He muttered to himself, as he patted his chest in relief. "Fortunately, I didn't need to act. Now, the kid just needs to escape with Yang Bai, and then I can continue my daydreaming."
However, it didn't go as he planned. Instead of them running away, they ran at it.
"ARE YOU INSANE??" He screamed in disbelief, as he jumped up. Restless and uneasy, he watched as Yang Bin danced around the claws of the Wolf King. Why are these children so eager to be disqualified? He asked in his mind. He was now forced to continue watching.

Seeing the Wolf King was about to be hit, the Steel Wolf sprang into action. In an instant, the Steel Wolf transformed. Crimson red armor began to grow on its head, chest, and legs. Sharp canine teeth grew out of its mouth and its claws were extended by a few centimeters. It jumped in front of the arrow and blocked it with its forelimbs.
But Yang Bai's devastating attack wasn't so easy to receive.
Upon the arrow's collision with the forelimb of the Steel Solf, the armor cracked and shattered. The arrow then pierced the leg, puncturing it before disappearing. The Iron Wolf howled in pain and limped around.
"Tsk. Not again." Yang Bai clicked her tongue in disappointment. Sensing a movement from her side, she immediately rolled aside, dodging an ambush by the Dark Wolf. Without missing a beat, she drew another arrow and aimed at the Dark Wolf. Just as she was about to fire the arrow, her aim was thrown off by a loud howl. The arrow that was supposed to hit the wolf, was shot into the dirt.
Standing shocked next to limping Steel Wolf, the Wolf King was completely enraged. A red light shot out from the wolf king following the howl, and it landed on each of the wolves. A red aura began to seep out from all the wolves, as they seemed to grow bigger and more ferocious. Even the limping Iron Wolf gradually stood up.
All the wolves howled in unison. They turned their now red eyes to the closest person present: Yang Bin.
Noticing that all their attention turned to him, Yang Bin's hair stood on end. He slowly took a step back, but that move seemed to pull a trigger, as the wolves immediately charged at him.
"Run!" Yang Bai shouted at him. She grabbed his arms and started running.
Feeling her vice-like grip on his arm, Yang Bin winced and had no choice but to run with her. "What happened to the wolves?" Yang Bin asked.
"The ability that the Wolf King used is called Pack Resonance. It not only empowers itself but also the wolves around it in a certain radius. When empowered all the wolves gain a huge increase in strength. The stronger the Wolf King, the more the pack's strength increases and the longer the skill lasts. Right now, all the intermediate stage wolves probably have the strength of an advanced stage demon beast and the Wolf King…" Yang Bai's explanation trailed off, but Yang Bin understood what she was going to say.
Probably has the strength of an initial stage rank 2 demon beast. Yang Bin thought with a grim face.
"The only thing we can do now is run; run until the skill wears out. When the enhancement runs out, they will temporarily enter a weakened state. Once that happens we can fight back." Yang Bai turned around and looked at Yang Bin. Suddenly, her eyes widened and cried, "Watch out!" She let go of his arm and attempted to push him.
Feeling her urgency, Yang Bin immediately leaped aside before she was able to push him aside. Right after, the Wind Wolf flew past him, ripping a line on his shirt. Hurriedly, he scrambled to get up, unbeknown to him, a wolf claw emerged from the shadows behind him.
Seeing Yang Bin's predicament, Yang Bai drew her bow and fired an arrow. The Dark Wolf, who was about to attack Yang Bin, retreated back to dodge the arrow. "Keep running!" She shouted to him. To which Yang Bin eagerly complied.
Yang Bai continued to shoot a few more arrows, preventing the Wind Wolf from immediately chasing. Then she turned and ran with Yang Bin. The chase continued for another minute. Whenever the pack got too close, Yang Bai would shoot an arrow, slowing them down briefly. But as the pursuit went on, Yang Bai's quiver became emptier.
"I don't have many arrows left." Yang Bai told Yang Bin in a low voice.
Hearing this, Yang Bin frowned slightly. If Yang Bai runs out of arrows, the wolves will catch up really quickly. "What are we going to do?" He asked.
After a second of hesitation, she responded, "I suggest we split up.
Yang Bin looked at her warily, as if he had been betrayed. And leave me to be eaten?
Seeing his expression, Yang Bai hastily explained, "It's not what you think. I'll lure the Wolf King and Steel Wolf away, and I'll leave the Dark and Wind Wolf to you. Pack Resonances only works in a certain radius. Once the wolves are beyond that radius, they lose that enhancement and become weaker."
Yang Bin hesitated. "The Wind Wolf is the pale green one, and the Dark Wolf is the black one right?"
"Correct."
Yang Bin thought for a few seconds. The Wind Wolf is extremely fast, and the Dark Wolf can hide in the shadows. Even if the two aren't enhanced by Alpha Pack Resonance, it'll still be very difficult for me to defeat them both, but with Mengyao it should be possible.
"Alright. I can do it." Yang Bin replied.
"I'll run left. You go right, on three." Yang Bai quickly said. "One, two, three!"
Simultaneously, Yang Bin and Yang Bai ran in opposite directions. The Wind Wolf, which was right behind the two, skid to a stop and look in both directions, at a loss of where to go. The Dark Wolf also stopped, but they didn't stay confused for long.
"This way, stupid wolves!" Yang Bin taunted, as he threw a small pebble. It landed squarely on the nose of the Wind Wolf. He immediately fled without looking back.
As if they understood his insult, the two wolves barked angrily and charged at him, especially the Wind Wolf; it looked ready to tear him apart. The Wolf King and Steel Wolf, seeing the direction the Wind Wolf and Dark Wolf, also went in the same direction, but they were stopped by an arrow in their path.
"Your opponent is me." Yang Bai said, as she fired one more arrow at them.
The Wolf King and Iron Wolf tried to ignore Yang Bai, but whenever they would try to follow Yang Bin, they were met with a golden arrow or two. Eventually they had no choice but to deal with Yang Bai's persistent attacks. The Wolf King charged at her, intending to deal with her quickly then regroup.
Seeing that she finally got their attention, Yang Bai started to retreat. Giving Yang Bin's leaving figure one last look, she turned and ran, firing some arrows from time to time to keep the two wolves' attention.

Meanwhile, Yang Bin was sprinting away at full speed. "Mengyao!" He called out.
Not receiving a response, Yang Bin felt a sense of foreboding. He called out again. "Yang Mengyao!" Still nothing happened. His heart sank.
Yang Mengyao, who was told to stay hidden, was perched on a tree a couple meters away from the entire scene. She stayed put until the two suddenly started fleeing. Unfortunately, they were running in the opposite direction. She reacted quickly and tried to catch up, but as the chase continued, she fell further and further behind.
In the end, Yang Mengyao was only a sixth rank body tempering cultivator that had neither a movement technique or any speed runes. Yang Bai was an eighth rank body tempering cultivator, and Yang Bin, with his speed rune plus his movement technique Phantom Tracks, was almost as fast as an eighth rank body tempering cultivator as well.
Even though Yang Mengyao did receive some runes from Yang Bin, they were all strength runes, since the speed rune was a very recent creation. Yang Bin was only able to create two good speed runes, and both were on him.
Now, Yang Bin is all alone against the two advance staged demon beasts.
