*knock knock* and the door swings open to reveal a small and frail looking old man who pulls the injured middle aged man inside his hut.
"what seems to be troubling you griblin?" asks the chief as he sets down some fresh made tea. "The new kid" he begins "he.... he sliced right through a tree and even caught it while it was falling, like it was a feather" This caught the elder off guard but he quickly recovers and askes "do you know what rank he is? did he say or give you any hint?"
"No and he doesn't think himself to be high ranking but from what i saw, that just can't be right" he says still shaken by what he saw a few minutes ago. "hmm" ponders the elder as he thinks for a minute.
"Go on and bring him here and we can use the ranking stone to see his true rank" the elder finally says after a few moments of silence. "a ranking stone!? those cost alot of gold and the one we have is one use only!" griblin says is shock but the elder insists "We must griblin, for if he is high rank we can start earning money and maybe he will help us if we help him relize his rank!" the elder says with hope in his eyes.

Marqs is wondering why the elder has called him over but he has no choice but to obey as he walks up to the hut and knocks.
and he hears a response a moment later.
"come on in, child" sounds a old and raspy voice from inside.
He opens the door to see griblin and farnun sitting down with a big orb on the table that looks like a crystal ball that fortune tellers would use. "you needed me chief?" marqs asks as he comes closer to the table and sits down at the table.
"Yes, we wish for you to use this ranking stone so we can see your true rank" says farnun as he gestures to the ranking stone on the table. "ranking stone?" asks marqs puzzled. "Yes, it will tell us your true rank, it is something that we must see for the security and future of the village" he says before marqs asks him "what are the ranks? I'm afraid I don't know"
The elder doesn't seem the least bit surprised and explains to him "The Ranks go as follows: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, XR. These are the ranks that everything follows." he begins. "The world revolves around these ranks and the most common rank is F, with the average rank being E
The higher the rank the better, obviously." he says while watching marqs's reaction and continuing.
"You can be set for life if you are rank C or above. Those trees you cut down can barely even be cut by a E rank, let alone anyone in the village. Griblin here is one of few E ranks in the village." he then motions to the stone "Go ahead and touch the stone so we can gauge your rank."
Marqs puts his hand on the stone and watches as, after a moment of nothing, it starts to change color before revealing a letter in the center of it
"By god! Child, you are Rank B!?" the elder who normally is calm and collected lost his composure after seeing the ridiculous rank infront of him, and Marqs was no better. 'I'm B Rank? didn't he say that if I'm C rank I would be set for life? then this means I am more then set!?'
