Even though it had a very high standard as one of the most prestigious academy in the world compared to the other academies. Falcon Academy was still able to admit at most a hundred young psykers as its students.
After sorting out the list of applicants that passed the academy admissions test, the following candidates that would be admitted into the academy were psykers that had the best potential and keep up with the pressure of learning in the academy.
A small number of these admitted students were elites from some of the most prestigious clans in the society.
As a result, the academy emphasized strongly safety measures within its premises to ensure no harm befall the heirs of this elites clan. Several school officials were assigned to always keep order whenever a situation that was getting out of hand was about to be created among the students.
However, because of the large number of students, the academy officials were unable to efficiently perform their duties.
Therefore, the academy created a special student committee by electing some of best students with the highest potential. The academy then entrusted them with the task of assisting the academy to perform this task.
This committee's duty was to oversee minors to make sure that there was order among the students. Also, it was to inform the officials if there was a situation that was too serious for them to handle.
The students considered the members of this committee and the academy students council as elites within the academy regardless of their background or status. This is because they received every exclusive treatment that the school offered.
The red uniform worn by the blonde haired boy and his two colleagues was proof that they were part of this committee.
The committee member with the reddish hair rushed to Blake who was sitting on the ground and clutching his burnt arm that was now sealed in a ice cocoon.
"Are you okay?" He asked Blake.
"Blaze." Blake called before he blacked out in his older brother's arms.
"Blake.. Blake...talk to me." Blaze repeatedly called out his younger brother's name. However, Blake was unable to give a response because he was unconscious..
"I thought you were all asked a question, so why is nobody answering or stepping forward to take responsibility for putting my little brother in this terrible condition?" Blaze roared at the crowd.
"It was that crazy bastard over there." A member of Blake's crew answered and pointed at Miles.
When Blaze looked in the same direction, he was baffled to see Miles eating his meal comfortable as if he was the only person in the room and everybody else was totally invisible to him.
Blaze was furious at Miles' unconcerned attitude about the scenario around him. He slowly rested Blake on the ground and approached the table Miles was sitting at.
He picked up Miles' tray of food and flung it away angrily as soon as he arrived at the table.
"You're lucky I'm done eating." Miles remarked as he wiped his mouth with a napkin in a classy manner.
"Shut up twerp, are you the one responsible for what happened to my brother?" Blaze stood before Miles on the opposite side of the table and placed both of his arms on the table as he glared at him.
"Excuse me, but don't you think you're being too rude by invading my personal space? Besides I don't know who you are nor who your brother is and I don't give a damn to know either."
"So please stop staring a hole in my head and kindly step aside because you seem to be blocking my view."
Blaze smashed the table with his fist. "Don't try to act smart with me and answer the damn question I asked you."
Miles' lips curve slightly upwards. "I'm not obliged to answer your questions. I have been sitting here ever since I walked into this room and the only thing I did was order a meal.
You can ask around for confirmation, I don't really care." Miles casually shrugged his shoulders. "But if you're just intending to keep spouting nonsense in my face then get out of my fucking sight."
Miles no longer intended to keep up with the act of being polite. His facial expression that had previously shown no expression had now become sour which showed how pissed off he was at Blaze.
"I'm going to beat some sense into that head of yours" Blaze declared and attacked Miles in a more aggressive manner by trying to punch him in the face.
Blaze was a few inches away from Miles' face when a hand caught his fist and prevented it from moving further.
"That's enough Blaze, you need to control your temper." The blonde boy said.this
"Don't try to stop me, Curtis. This bastard really needs to learn some manners for his seniors."
Blaze insisted when he saw the cocky smile plastered on Miles' face. It annoyed him that Miles was unfazed by his sudden attack as if he already knew Curtis would interfere.
"I understand the reason for your rage. However, remember that our job is to resolve issues not create them. Besides you need to take care of the injured student which is also your brother."
Curtis suggested in a persuasive tone and he placed his hand on Blaze's shoulder. "Leave this to me and allow me to handle this instead."
Blaze was reluctant to comply but he knew Curtis was right, he hesitantly withdraw his fist and walked back to where Blake was lying. He placed Blake on his shoulders in order to carry him to the school clinic.
Blaze took one more glance at Miles. "I'll be seeing you soon." He said before he walked away while carrying his brother under the watchful gaze of everyone.
"I'm sorry for his attitude but it's the fire that burns within their soul that makes him possess a fierce personality." Curtis spoke calmly to Miles.
"No offense was taken." Miles curtly replied.
"Since, I would like you to give me a detailed explanation of what occurred between you and Blake." Unlike Blaze, Curtis politely interrogated Miles.
"I did nothing to him, he disrupted my meal, touched me without permission, he was also trying to force me to join his lousy crew and he tried to burn my clothes." Miles instantly gave a brief but detailed explanation of what transpired between both him and Blake.
"Is that the reason why you burned his arm?" Curtis asked.
"Surely you are not accusing me of his misfortune when I didn't even touch him. It's not my fault that he was unable to control his flames, such an embarrassing act for a Pyrokinesis psyker." Miles scoffed and he didn't hide the mocking smile on his face either.
"You didn't have to touch him to do anything to him." Curtis retorted.
According to the vice director, it's not an offense if you don't get caught. Therefore, as long as you have no proof that I'm responsible, I can't be held accountable." Miles smirked.
"Yes, you're right, but since you are a prime suspect. Doyou have anyone that can vouch for your innocence?"
Curtis suspected Miles was the culprit that's why he remained persistent in finding a clue to prove Miles' guilt.
"I honestly don't get what this is all about. Why is it that nobody is talking about how Blake almost ruined my clothes? But I'm only being questioned about his burnt hand and now you want me to find an alibi."
Miles raised his voice high enough to complain about the unfair treatment he was receiving.
"I understand but I'm only asking to clear any doubts that you aren't involved, unless you don't have anybody to back your claim of innocence?" Curtis remarked
"Why bother asking me? Look around there are many witnesses that you can ask to back my claim."
"It's true, all Miles said was true" Brain suddenly voiced out.
"And who are you?" Curtis questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm his roommate, friend and alibi. All I am going to say is that all this trouble is all Blake's fault. He was the one that came to our table to make a scene and it was also through that nobody touched him." Brian took a step forward before he responded.
"Exactly, it was as if he just lost control of his power." Shane added.
"Alright, if that's the case then I believe you are innocent just as you claimed. I deeply apologize for the misunderstanding. However, I would like to implore you to refrain from engaging in unnecessary violence. If you want to prove you strength then make an official challenge."
Miles chuckled. "I don't look for trouble but I never run from one either."
Curtis scoffed at Miles response and said. "I'll take my leave now." .
After taking a taking a few steps, Curtis said to Miles without looking back."You should watch your back. In this academy you shouldn't mess with some people or you might get hurt in a really bad way."
"Thanks for the advice but I think your friend and his brother are going to need it more than I do. On my behalf, remind them to be very careful when playing with fire, it is a very dangerous elemenr because it could easily burn them." Miles remarked in a taunting manner.
Curtis smirked before he left but Miles didn't see it.
The white haired girl who had been silently standing all the while took a short glance look at Miles who smiled back at her before she followed Curtis.
