Chapter 10 - Hello
Soo-ji gets dressed quickly because she wants to get her mind off what happened the night before.
Soo-ji and Tae-hyun hurry to get their things together and leave the apartment. Tae-hyun is excited to get to work and wants to be on time, while Soo-ji is still trying to figure out why Tae-hyun went so early. She looked at her watch and saw it was only 6 a.m.
The town was quiet, with only a few people out and about. He asked him why that was always the first thing he did in the morning.
Tae-hyun says that he has an early shift at work and needs to be there on time. Soo-ji looks up to Tae-hyun because he is reliable and works hard. Soo-ji and Tae-hyun stop at a bus stop to wait for their separate buses. Even though their goals were different, they took the time to talk and catch up. Tae-hyun is a flirt who never misses a chance to make Soo-ji laugh.
"You look great today, Soo-ji," Tae-hyun told her.
Soo-ji blushes. "I didn't wear any makeup, and I just put on the first thing I could find this morning," she says.
Taehyun chuckled. "It makes no difference. You are beautiful even when you don't wear makeup."
Soo-ji smiles and feels something warm in her chest. She never thought she was pretty, but Tae-hyun always made her feel like a star.
They talked about their plans for the day while waiting for the bus. Tae-hyun is eager to work, but Soo-ji still determines what she wants to do.
The bus finally arrives, and Tae-hyun quickly hugs Soo-ji before getting on. As the bus drove away, he felt a little lonely. But he also knew they would see each other again soon, which made him happy.
Soo-ji looks at the watch and sees that her bus will be here for a while. She leans at the bus stop, is lost in thought, and smiles. Soo-ji is thinking about something when she hears her bus coming. She stands up and goes toward the bus, happy and glad to have met someone like Tae-hyun. She got on the bus with other people and found an empty place to prepare for her trip home.
Sitting in her chair, she reached for her cell phone and saw that she had gotten a text. When she opens her phone, it's Tae-hyun on the other end. As he read the message, a smile grew on his face.
Have a nice day, Soo-ji! See you soon:)."
Soo-ji got a warm feeling in her chest as she read the message. She quickly responds, thanking Tae-hyun for his kind words and telling him to have fun at work. She hit "send" and then leaned back in his chair.
When Soo-ji's phone rings, it breaks up her thinking. She looked at the screen and saw that it was her father calling. She quickly picked up the phone.
"Hello, Dad," he said with a smile.
On the other end of the line, his father's words blared through the phone. "Where are you, Soo-ji? All night I've been trying to get in touch with you!"
Soo-ji can hear the worry in her father's voice, and he quickly tells her that she's on the bus and on her way home.
"I'm fine, Dad. "I just had a busy morning," he said, trying to calm him down.
His father was glad to hear that. "Good, good. I was afraid for you."
Soo-ji smiles when she says that her father can be proud sometimes, but she knows he loves her very much.
"Yeah, Dad. "I love you too," he said to make him feel better. Soo-ji listens to her father's words on the other end of the line as she tries to calm him down. She was so interested in what was being said that she didn't notice when the bus stopped.
Soo-ji gets off the bus and goes down the street, where she sees her father waiting in the front yard. He was talking to her on the phone but hung up as soon as he saw her.
"Soo-ji! "Finally, you're home!" his father said with a big smile.
Soo-ji smiles, runs to her dad and hugs him. "Father, I'm home," he said, happy. Her father hugged her, glad to see that she was okay. He scolds her for not answering his phone earlier and brings Soo-ji into the house with them.
When Soo-ji and her father walk into the house, the maids meet them warmly and take Soo-ji's bag. But his father's face changed when he saw the bag.
He asked, "What is this?" in a firm voice. "Why is your college bag being brought to you by a stranger?"
Soo-ji quickly explains that she went to a bar with her friends and had So-rae's maid bring her bag, not an unknown person. She tried to say no, but her friends kept pushing her, so she finally said yes.
Her father's face changed as he listened to her explain. He groaned. "I was worried about you, Soo-ji, and thank goodness you're fine."
Soo-ji smiles, "Yeah, Dad. I'll be more careful."
Soo-ji asks her father if she can take a break and do some cleaning. Her father knows what her daughter needs and tells the workers to ensure Soo-ji is well taken care of and has everything she needs.
With the help of a maid, Soo-ji gets into her room. She asked the maid to make hot water for her bath and bring some snacks. She knew she needed a warm bath and some good food right now.
The maids nodded and got to work, making everything requested. She watched as the maid rushed around the room getting things ready. She enters the bathroom, soaks in the warm water, and lets all her problems and stress melt away. She shut her eyes and took a deep breath. As she did, she felt her muscles relax.
Soo-ji dried herself off and walked back to her room. She was met by the smell of fresh snacks, sat in a comfy chair, and started eating.
Soo-ji finishes her snack, leans back in her chair, and checks her phone, but it's not charging. When she looked at the charger, she saw a message. Soo-ji sends a quick text message back.
Tae-hyun just got done with his work and went to bed. He walked to his locker, eager to check his phone and see if a message awaited him.
When he opens his phone, he sees Soo-ji sent him a message. His heart skipped a beat as he read the message, and a big smile spread.
"Soo-ji is coming to spend the night!" she yelled ecstatically.
The sudden sound made the workers around him turn to look at him. Tae-hyun sees what he's done and apologizes for making a fuss.
"Sorry, everyone," he said with a big smile still on his face.
The other employees pass by. Tae-hyun can't believe Soo-ji is going to stay the night with him. Tae-hyun is happy and confused at the same time. It was the first time he had a roommate, and it was the beautiful girl he had loved for years. He didn't know what to do but wanted to take advantage of this chance.
Since getting the message from Soo-ji, Tae-hyun has been having trouble focusing on work. Thoughts of her filled his head, and he couldn't help but smile every time he thought about her coming to stay, even for a night.
He gets things done faster because of how much he wants to do them. He wants to spend the night with Soo-ji so severely that he will do anything to make it happen.
When he works, Tae-hyun can't help but think about the girl he loves. He was glad to be able to spend the night with her and wanted to make the most of this chance. He wanted to show how much he cared and wanted this night special.
Tae-hyun has finally finished his work and is desperate to go home. But before that, a group of troublemakers harassed him, and he didn't want them to ruin his night with Soo-ji. He had studied their habits and knew precisely when they would show up, so he quickly left the building before they came.
Tae-hyun stops at the store on the way to his flat to get food and drinks. Even though he's trying to save money, he can't stand having anything to share in his room if he decides to stick with it.
He bought many things, including cases of beer, sweet and salty snacks, and food for the next day. He wanted to ensure they had everything they needed for a good time.
When Tae-hyun gets to his room, he is glad to see Soo-ji. He couldn't help but smile back at her big grin.
"Hey, Taehyung!" Soo-ji says as he hugs him.
