Materials in hand!
Let's first upgrade the workbench.
[Stone - 20, Wood - 2]
[Level 1 workbench, construction successful!]
With a flash of golden light, a large stone appeared in the bottom left corner of the small wooden house, near the bed, with a stone hammer placed on top of it.
It seemed that this was the workbench, and the level 1 version was indeed quite primitive.
Andrew opened the magic book, and the description below the level 1 workbench had indeed changed.
[Level 1 Workbench → Level 2 Workbench: Can craft basic defense tools, double-bladed stone axes, short bows, arrows, sewn clothing, intermediate backpack... Construction requirements: Stone 0/100, Wood 47/20, Earth type core 0/2]
[Stone axe: Can be crafted. Crafting requirements: Stone 0/1, Wood 47/1, Vine 9/1]
[Bamboo spear: Can be crafted. Crafting requirements: Bamboo 0/2, Stone 0/1, Vine 9/1]
[Torch: Can be crafted. Crafting requirements: Resin 0/2, Wood 47/1, Vine 9/1]
[Basic backpack: Can be crafted. Crafting requirements: Beast skin 1/2, Hemp thread 0/1]
[Wooden bucket...]
Level 2 workbench can actually make bows and arrows!
Andrew's eyes lit up.
He remembered that there was always a lightning leopard roaming around his area.
If he had bows and arrows, he could shoot it from afar, then finish it off with the axe!
If the lightning leopard had anything valuable on it?!
Unfortunately, the materials required for level 2 were too crazy, requiring 100 stones and 2 earth elemental core.
Before, Andrew was puzzled about what the earth type core were used for, but now he had a concept - they were used to upgrade some higher-level things.
It was possible that making level 2 or higher tools would also require elemental nuclei.
It seemed that he needed to collect more of them!
As for these level 1 weapons, Andrew really didn't think much of them. Since he already had a rusty metal axe, which was much more practical than these primitive stone tools.
So there was no need to make more.
If there was anything from the workbench that Andrew wanted, it would probably be the torch and the basic backpack.
Unfortunately, the materials were not enough.
But he was not in a hurry. He still had several flints that he hadn't sold yet!
Later, he would check the trading channel to see if there was anything good he could exchange them for.
For now, he needed to fill his stomach first.
Sizzle sizzle
And at this moment, the other piece of snake meat that Andrew had placed on the campfire was also ready.
He picked up the last piece of snake meat and ate it with relish, washing it down with a gulp of mineral water.
Watching a group of people crying and shouting in fear on the channel, Andrew suddenly felt lucky.
After all, he now had a warm wooden cabin with a blazing campfire inside. With walls on all sides, giving him an unusual sense of safety.
After finishing the meat, Andrew felt a bit thirsty. It was then he remembered that he had received a blueprint for a water purifier today. It was time to store some water. He opened the blueprint.
[Water Purifier Blueprint: Stone 0/3, Wood 47/3, Charcoal 0/1, Bamboo 0/1]
[Can purify water sources, so you don't have to worry about water source pollution.]
Hmm, it could only purify water sources, not produce them.
It seemed he could only go to the trading channel and exchange some water with people.
[Trading Channel]
Andrew searched for water-related content and immediately saw many people selling water. He clicked on the rankings, scrolling from top to bottom, and found the most cost-effective offer: 10 liter of water for 1 wood, which was much better than others' one or two liters or even one liter.
After all, with so many people in the world, some were spawned near water sources and naturally enjoyed the convenience of water sources. However, they might lack other things, such as wood, which was why they needed to trade for water.
As he was about to trade, the system reminded him, "You have no container to hold the water. Do you still want to proceed?"
If without a container, he would have had a water disaster!
Andrew breathed a sigh of relief and then quietly recited the spell to make a wooden barrel.
The magic book quickly jumped to the content of the ordinary wooden barrel under the Upgrade Tree Workbench Level 1.
[Ordinary Wooden Barrel: Can hold 10 liters of water, requires Wood 47/2, Vine 9/1]
With sufficient materials, Andrew clicked without hesitation to make it.
Soon, a slightly small wooden barrel appeared in front of Andrew.
[Exchange for 10 liter of water.]
[Exchange successful: Water +10L, Wood -1]
In the newly made water barrel by Andrew, there was some water at the bottom. But those waters were somewhat murky, with some dead leaves and twigs floating on top. Upon closer inspection, there were also some floating organisms in the water, such as mosquito larvae, which were quite disgusting.
No wonder they were selling so cheaply!
If he didn't have a water purifier, he probably wouldn't be able to drink it.
Andrew clicked on the water purifier blueprint again [Water purifier blueprint: Stone 0/3, Wood 44/3, Charcoal 0/3, Bamboo 0/1]. He had plenty of wood, but was short on charcoal and stone.
Charcoal was the byproduct of incomplete combustion of wood. Andrew stared at the campfire carefully. Soon he found some small red exclamation marks in the bright flames.
[Charcoal: A byproduct of incomplete combustion of wood, which can be used to filter water sources. It's an excellent thing.]
[Collecting charcoal will reduce the burning time of the campfire. Please be sure to add firewood. The temperature will drop to minus five degrees Celsius in the middle of the night!]
So that was it. Collecting charcoal would also shorten the burning time of the campfire. This meant that the burning time of the charcoal had already been taken into account when adding firewood.
Andrew had plenty of wood and branches, so he didn't mind the extra consumption.
Collect charcoal!
[Charcoal-3, remaining burning time of the campfire is 14 hours. Please add firewood.]
Trading one dry branch for one charcoal was a good deal. But Andrew didn't need the charcoal immediately, so he could collect it when he needed it. Charcoal was something that could be burned at any time.
Andrew threw in three dry branches, so the campfire could continue burning until dawn.
[Water purifier blueprint: Stone 0/3, Wood 44/3, Charcoal 3/3, Bamboo 0/1]. He only needed a few more pieces of stone and a bamboo to make the water purifier.
Andrew remembered that someone had left a message under his flint for sale, saying that they didn't have enough wood and wondered if they could exchange it for stone.
Just in time!
He immediately opened the trading channel and contacted the seller who left a message under his flint for sale post, which had a profile picture of a long-haired beautiful woman.
She appeared to be in her early twenties, with a round face and was very cute, looking just like a 3D modeling real-life doll.
However, Andrew naturally didn't fully trust such photos.
After all, these days, makeup technology was too advanced.
So he just took a look and left it at that.
