They were facing a tiger, a difficult foe that was not going to get subdued just with some poison.
It had a body of crystal-like stone, a body that had physical dense stronger than a giant's, something that could deflect even strong magic, something that was so difficult to deal with aside from its natural predator, the great dragonoids that roamed the mountains and skies of this island, nothing on this island could deal with them.
Not even the strong humans who have achieved a high level could deal with this beast. It wasn't possible to deal with it unless one used a great destructive power like refined Aura or high-level concentrated single-target offensive magic.
They were the only ways to deal with these creatures so, historically, there had only been a total of six times when this creature was defeated on this planet.
