"I'll be leaving now. Bye Arthur," said Terra as she waved goodbye with a smile and for the first time since the two had met, Arthur wasn't irritated by her.
"Now to get back to business. I need to figure out what's been causing me to be distracted," said Arthur to himself while doing push-ups since he couldn't train at school so he decided to train at home while he thought. However even after an entire day of thinking, he didn't have a clue what had been causing the sudden change in him that everyone noticed expect for him.
"Hey Lucifer," said Arthur as that was the only person or thing he could turn to for a matter such as this.
"Yes, I already know why you've been acting differently. It's because of that girl. You're confused because no one had actually seen you to be reliable. I mean it's the first time that you've ever saved someone's life. Even more than that, although it's unclear, there might be additional emotions however it's too early to say as there have only been minor signs," said Lucifer to which Arthur looked annoyed.
"So you knew this entire time but you didn't even think for even a second to tell me about this," said Arthur to which Lucifer didn't care.
"It's not my fault you didn't think to ask until now," said Lucifer as if he was always innocent.
"I seriously hate you," said Arthur before getting himself together and heading to school the following day.
Over the next few months, everything was normal. Nothing had gone wrong in his life as he had returned to be the same Arthur that all his teachers enjoyed teaching. As for Terra, she started visiting about once a week before increasing the number of days she visited Arthur until it was every day. Although Arthur was unsure about this at first, he soon got comfortable with having her around as it was a regular thing for him to experience. During those couple months, she was even there to celebrate his birthday. In fact, it was the first birthday that Arthur had celebrated after his parents had died. By that point, Arthur no longer questioned having Terra around. Instead he actually enjoyed her company. It allowed him to relax while having someone to talk to.
Of course all good things must come to an end at one point or another.
…
…
…
"Do you have your sights on her?" a figure in a dark room asked while talking on a magic controlled phone.
"Yes, I do. Should I move in and take her?" another figure whispered as he followed Terra as she walked towards Arthur's building.
"Yes," the figure in the dark room replied which initiated the plan to kidnap her which went according to the plan of the unknown organization.
…
"Well, that's odd. She usually comes over around this time of day. I guess something must have happened," said Arthur as he let out a sigh of disappointment and went to sleep so that time would go faster and the next day would come.
Even so, Terra still didn't come on the following day either. This was odd as Arthur was so used to her being there every day and now things were just boring. Over the next few days this continued until he head a knock on his door to which Arthur almost teleported to the door as he opened it to see no one. He looked around to which he noticed a letter addressed to him.
"Greetings Arthur. I'll keep things nice and simple. We have your friend Terra. Now, if you want her back in one piece, listen to our demands carefully. First of all, we're going to launch a country wide attack on Juno. During that time, you cannot help your country in any way shape or form. Second of all, once we've destroyed your country, you will start working for us. Then once that has been completed, you will be allowed to be reunited with your friend."
Right as Arthur finished reading the letter, his eyes turned red in rage. He grit his teeth as he wanted to find where the people that kidnapped Terra were.
"Take it easy Arthur. This doesn't work well for me either. Let me step in," said Lucifer as he didn't give Arthur even a chance to react as he wrapped his demon skin on Arthur's body and took full control over the body.
Using the different scents on the letter, Lucifer determined which one aligned most with the ink that was used to write the letter and using his magical spells to track down where that person was. In turn, he was led to a basement inside a shady apartment building which looked to have been abandoned.
"Well, well, look what we have here. It seems that you tried to find out where we were. Unfortunately for you, we've prepared for something like that. As such, your friend will be killed shortly. Unless you still want to save her and want to cooperate," said the man that was waiting for Arthur as he finally turned around to see the demon that was behind him as he was speaking like he had predicted everything which was why he hadn't turned around until he had finished his sentence.
"H-How? You're not Arthur. What are you?!" the man yelled out before Lucifer grabbed him with his giant arms and raised him in the air as he used his powers to read his mind and find out where the people that were holding Terra were. This technique wasn't a magical spell but was something special to Lucifer and maybe even some demons from hell.
Nevertheless, Lucifer teleported to the place he had found out from the man's head.
"Wow, I guess you found us. Well, it's not like that matters. Even if you're not in your human form, I can sense your bloodlust. You're secretly Arthur. Not that it matters. Good luck trying to catch us. Either you save your friend or your country. You can make that choice for yourself," said the man who was running the entire operation as he hid in a cloak before snapping his fingers and teleporting everyone on the room elsewhere before Lucifer could even get a good look at what, who or what was there.
