It was all going down in the mystical continent of Zentra that served as the origin of the ancient tradition of the festival of pruning — the test of grit and wits.
After a certain number of years go by, the most promising of mages are selected from across the other four continents to partake in the festival.
Those who eventually distinguish themselves by surviving until the end are summoned to the Union of Mages right at the Capital in Zentra, where a selection is done — the mage apprentices that are chosen for the festival set out on a journey to undertake challenges, form short as well as lasting bonds, shape their fate and survive so they can be recognised.
The selection was a prestigious event that symbolises recognition of one's skills, overseen by the squads of the Union of Mages, each one commanded by a seasoned and powerful mage of incredible skills.
