After an exhausting three-day long journey, they had finally finished their task on the island.
They felt disappointed, happy and satisfied all at the same time. Disappointed because of Asthofol's revelation which made their days of effort seem worthless.
Happy and satisfied because they finally made it to the Eyrie even though Asthofol had lied about their objective on the island.
Only forty-four candidates made it to the end and only the forty-four of them were returning to the Capital.
The current status of the Aepari beyond the Eyrie was unknown. Whether they were dead or not, no longer mattered.
"Only the Aepari here will be returning to the Capital with us."
As Asthofol made his announcement, the doors of the tower closed, locking them in.
