Enormous spikes of condensed ice extended from the ice-layered ground and stretched out to strike as many of the giant beasts that were on the frozen path.
Avalan was among the Aepari that were closest to the Eyrie and as such was among the first of the candidates to encounter the army of beasts that approached them.
Taking down these species of magic beasts required more power than he was used to exerting and it took a toll on his body. Avalan was gasping, his breath was misty and cold with half of the left side of his face covered in a thin layer of ice like a protective cover.
Avalan was consistently burning his Aer to take down the magic beasts but in the end, he was not completely wiping them out. What Avalan did instead was to leave his victims incapacitated and unable to act upon their words to kill humans.
