Lord Valen's next action took virtually everyone by surprise.
"I'd like to call to the witness stand," Lord Valen Rougale announced in the court, "the master of Blancan Veir, Master Arkam Sigar."
"What are you doing!" Gaia screamed at Arkam.
"Don't do this!" she pleaded with him but her voice of appeal reversed nothing.
Lord Rougale certainly shocked the accused and the nobles present. A mage of the Blancan Veir stepping up to testify against his own was not something they expected to see. The long feud between both societies was well known in the magic community of Nortvard.
It was even more startling that it was no ordinary mage of Blancan Veir that stepped up. It was a master of their ranks, their leader - Arkam Sigar.
"Master Arkam!" Gaia yelled, "What the hell are you doing!"
"Don't do it!" she cried to him, "Don't, master!"
