Morrin stared at the disappearing Brunos with regret. She had been immersed in emotions that she forgot Fellene was coming. Who would protect her from him this time?
Minutes ago, when she talked to Fellene telephathicly, she was reluctant to disclose her whereabouts to him in fear that he was behind all that was happening. That he would come and help Amellia to kill them instead of rescuing them from her. After all, he had been trying to kill Brunos since he arrived.
However, staring at immovable Brunos, staring at Amellia approaching him with a fire ball and killing intent, she couldn't help but tell him.
Thankfully, she asked him if he would please come with the Four Aurburns and he agreed. It might be a lie. But it was a gamble worthy taking. Did she have any other choice?
At the time, the fear of Fellene asking for an explanation for the events of yesterday night disappeared. What was there to be afraid of when she was still alive? If it had been possible for her to receive Brunos's mercy, everything was still possible.
When Morrin could no longer see Brunos, she turned her gaze to the battle field. Her eyes landed on three succubi standing together, shaking with fear and able to say thank you if she spared their lives.
Her thirsty to shed blood was at its peaks. After all, they hadn't been many wars recently.
She took a few steps and picked her shattered sword. The collision with Amellia's fire ball had left it in two halves.
After staring at it for a long time, she headed in direction of frightened succubi.
"How older you?"
She was curious to know how old were those succubi. From the colour of their hair, she could tell they were old generation. Why were they too weak?
It didn't mean that every Old Generation was stronger than her. She was too strong for her age. But no Old Generation would be that weak. At least that's how she believed.
"I'm 367 years old."
"Then why are you weak?"
"I was a servant before the curse so I hadn't gotten many chances to go to the human world."
Morrin nodded in agreement but then remembered something.
Before the curse, one would strengthen herself through going to the human world to collect souls. Since the curse restricted them out of the realms, Lust Leaves became an alternative or... or sex though that was too expensive for a succubus those days.
How could old generation lack Lust Leaves? They were a strong army always competing with them in killing pergi*.
"I understand you didn't have much souls back then. What about Lust Leaves then?"
The Maroon winged succubus exchanged glances with her friends before answering. "I had a lover before the curse."
Now Morrin could understand. One was able to use Lust Leaves if she was a virgin. If not, she would need sex or...
"What about masturbation?"
As far as Morrin knew, mastubating was an alternative for one to grow her lust. She even did it her self every two days so her lust would never diminish. It was simple and cheap.
Use your fingers or something, and stop before you are satisfied. That was how she did it. Then she would stay lustful.
The succubi in front of her exchanged strange looks again before the Maroon one could reply.
"My lover won't allow it."
Morrin raised an eyebrow. All males except four were dead. Her lover was dead. How could she still not mastubate because of a request made by someone who died 200 years ago?
"Isn't he dead?"
"It's not my former lover," explained the Marron Succubus. "It's the current one."
At Morrin's questioning look, the Marron succubi replied, "Fellene. It's Fellene."
Morrin couldn't help but laugh. How could such a weak succubus be Fellene's lover? He had even refused noble succubi let alone that piece of trash.
'I seem to have grew find of Brunos's phases.' she thought when she realized she had referred to the Maroon succubus as a piece of trash.
As if sacred by her loud laughter, the succubus hurried to add, "That's why I'm weak. His stamina is too high that it doesn't take him a minute to ride me to climax. Only high tiers with enough souls like Lania and Peony are able stand him for hours."
Morrin didn't know why, but the Maroon Succubus's words seemed to be believable.
It was her first time learning about Fellene's relationship with Old Generation, but she had always suspect Fellene. How could a lustful incubus like him claim he would only do sex with Valeria.
He truly loved her, but abstinence was something impossible for a creature like him. Besides, he was becoming so handsome at a godly speed. A sign that he was dual cultivating.
Demons like them were immortal by origin. Which is why their dual cultivation was only about increasing ones beauty and strength. The fastest way to grow strong.
Morrin stared at her broken sword digesting the information she had just got. There was no need to ask if Fellene was the one who had sent them to kill Brunos. It was obvious.
The real question was:
"Do you want to die?"
The succubi stared at her with a no-of-course look. Who would answer yes? Maybe Amellia. She was in a miserable condition. One of the reason why Morrin had decided to leave her for a while so she could taste on the dish had prepared for Brunos. She wanted him to suffer, right?
The succubi shook their heads.
Morrin stepped closer to them.
"Good!"
They were trembling.
"You will have to help me know everything about the Old Generation. Now Fellene is about to come."
She pointed at row of tall rose flowers.
"Go and hide behind those flowers. I'll tell you when to come. If you try anything stupid, either me will kill you, or Fellene for having snitched on him. Understood?"
Running toward the flowers was their response. Who would want to die like a pumpkin?
Her plan was simple. She was going to kill Amellia before Fellene could arrive and pretend she didn't know anything about his secrets when he arrived. Following, they would go and report to the Queen. After that, she would work upon Queen's decision, trying her best to return to the battle to take those succubi to her cave.
Everyone powerful except the Queen had a cave. Life had given them more years doing nothing at day. Their source of income was to go hurting for Pergus beasts at night. That was their jobs. What would they be doing at day if not for digging caves.
One would dig it him or herself. The bigger the more privacy and pride that he or she had lastly achieved something in life.
Only normal population lived inside overground settlements far from the Crimson Castle. As for the Queen, she had a whole city in the name of Crimson Castle. Why a need to trouble herself digging a cave?
Morrin shifted her gaze from the running succubi to Amellia. She had stopped wiggling, but pain, anger and a need to stand up and run were visible in her immovable position.
Morrin was not going to spare her life. She wasn't like this three succubi. They were following orders like she her the night before. That's why she had be as merciful as Brunos.
As for Amellia, she seemed to hold a grudge towards Brunos. She had to die before it grew more.
"You've said it's too cheap to stab your precious body," Morrin said as she raised her broken sword. "Isn't it a pity that it's going to stab you while in halves? Now it's even more cheap. he he!"
Only Amellia could do was wear an expression of hatred and vengeance. She couldn't move her arms or mouth which Morrin could not comprehend. Brunos had only punched her shoulders. Maybe it was the effect of falling and smashing her hind head on the ground.
"There's no need to be angry with me," she told her raising her sword higher. "Save your energy. Maybe you'll need it in afterlife."
That said, she brought her sword downward making it whistle as it cut through the air. Before it could reach Amellia's neck, Fellene's voice echoed throughout the area.
"Wait!"
Morrin's heart skipped a bit for some reason. With her broken sword still in the air, she turned around.
Thankfully, Fellene didn't come alone. Two of the Four Aurburns, the ones with orange wings, stood behind him.
"If you have managed to bring an enemy to her feet, why not take her as a hostage instead?"
Morrin chuckled at Fellene's words. He was trying to save his lover, right?
"What if you're too exhausted to carry her on your sore shoulders?" she replied with a question mark.
Hearing that Amellia couldn't walk by herself, Fellene's expression became gloomier and shifted his gaze to Amellia who smiled as a result. Her knight in shining armor had arrived. Why didn't she have to be happy?
If only she knew what Fellene was thinking.
"Kill her then!"
Morrin's mouth fell open.
"What?"
"Kill her!" He ordered through gritted teeth.
Hearing his words, Amellia's eyes glistened with tears. No words could come out of her mouth, but the disappointed look on her face spoke volumes.
At that moment, Morrin felt sorry for her. Anger boiled in her nerves that she didn't want to kill her anymore. Amellia's situation reminded her of her own life. She had lived serving Fellene but in the end, killing her was the reward he could give.
If not for Brunos, Fellene would have applied his animosity on her the night before. Thus, she turned around and stared at him with a strange look.
