Did they just call him a virgin? He laughed at them but it reminded him of Lilyard so he yelled at them, "Stop!"
He still thought it was a joke. As far as he could remember, he had never done anything wrong for them. Why would they kill him then? They were his best friends. He was their boss. Who would pay them? "I know you like these kinds of jokes but I told you I have something important to deal with!"
"Yeah!" Kellen snorted. "You don't have time for trash like us. Do you?"
He knew she was a good actress when it came to pretending but he was not in the mood for that. His lover was lying dead on the bed. How could he joke along with them?
"What the fuck are you talking about?" He was pissed off. "Stop that nonsense."
She stood up and made a cat walk towards him. "Do you still think it's some kind of a game?" She craned her neck to look in his colourless eyes as her fingers trimmed his jaw line. "Darling, we're not joking!"
"Kellen, step back!" Her brother said in a commanding tone as always. " Let's end this now! We don't have forever."
"I've to say sorry to him, Liam." She turned her gaze at Morgan. "Sorry, darling! We didn't know you would be awake." She then kissed him smiling mischievously. "Our second kiss, your last. You've been a good brother to me, Berry."
Did she just call him brother? He thought they have been in love. At least EX would be fair.
Morgan stared at her hourglass figure as she strolled towards the sofa. Her big ass was wrapped in denim shorts and he could see her shoulder blades thanks to a maroon backless crop top.
He then realized that all of them were wearing as if attending a bitch party. What kind of sick joke was that? They never came to his house like that. They would always be wearing professional costumes. Were they serious about killing him?
Remembering the revolver on his butt, he laughed at them and asked, "And you brought two people to kill a sleeping person?"
"The slim guy kills and his big brother clears the mess." Jay said as he gestured for the brothers to do the job he hired them for and sank into the sofa to enjoy the show. "Make it quick! I don't want to look at his ugly face for long."
Before Morgan could ask why, the slim guy with tattoos and piercings ran towards him holding a nail-like knife.
Morgan chuckled, pulled out his gun and enjoyed the frightened expressions of his enemies. Now that they were frozen, he could ask why they wanted to kill him.
"Don't... don't you dare shoot us!"
"That's not what I asked, Liam." He gave him an assassin glare. "Tell me! Why. The Fuck. You. Want me. Dead?"
Kellen replied, "Morgan, you treat us like objects. We want to feel like humans. We want to be more important."
"More important?" Morgan gave her a questioning look laughing at her words. "Who said you weren't? You're the most important people in my life. Kellen, who can do all the talkings with our business partners? One of the reasons Mystery Studio has loyal fans is because of the way you manage our social media accounts. You're the source of our loyal fan base."
"Don't twist it, Morgan!" She pointed at him. "It's you not us. Everything we do is credited to you. We are tired of being in your shadow.
"But we would have talked about it. We would have found another solution other than this."
"Talk about it?" Liam intervened with a cracking voice. "There's nothing we can do to erase your name in the minds of fans. If only they knew how you look."
"So," Morgan shifted the muzzle of his gun. "Killing me is the only way?"
"Of course!" Liam said pretending to don't care about the gun pointed at him. "Morgan, can you imagine typing the whole book and not being recognized by fans? All you do is wake up in the middle of the night, call me saying you've got a big idea.
"You tell and I write. While you're back in bed, I'm editing. I'm posting and trying to keep up with deadlines. But once the book is popular...*sob* once... once it's popular, no-one cares about my name. All they say is, 'Handsome Incubus is amazing. He has a way with words. He is hard working.' Can you imagine?" He smiled bitterly. "Only you, is hard working not us. Not me."
"So what else did you want me to do?" Your name is in the book. I always thank you at the end of every chapter. I see and appreciate your work." He said wandering his eyes across their faces. "Can I change what's in the minds of people?"
Twins, "You cannot, and that's why you should die."
"Geez..." Morgan could not believe it. "To what do I owe you such a grudge?"
"We draw the..." They said at the same time but Jay gestured for his senior to continue. "We draw the whole comic. But who cares? Everyone is referring to the characters' words. Everyone says how the plot is good. They forget that we're the ones behind what they're seeing and praise you like a god." He then stood up and went towards him saying, "We're tired of that Morgan. We're tired."
"Stop right there or else I'll pull the trigger!" Morgan knew shooting would mean his death since only one crystal-like bullet was left. He had to use it to keep them away from him as he escape.
"Do all the fuck you want, Morgan!" Jake yelled at him still going towards him. "It's not like you're going to forgive us anyway!"
"I said stop!" Morgan said as he thought of ways to leave that place. "I can't believe you're that ungrateful! When I called you, weren't you on a rooftop ready to jump? You've drawn so many comics but none could make it. Why? Their storyline. Boring and absurd."
Emotions drifted Morgan away as he remembered how difficult it was for him to convince Jake that suicide should never be an option.
Liam saw it and winked at the killer.
"So why do you feel jealous when fans compliment my talent?" Morgan continued unaware of what was coming for him.
"I've given you new life, hope, popularity and..." He felt something piercing through his chest, and out of instinct he shot the killer between the eyes.
The fat guy could not give Morgan seconds to praise his godly target. He came running to him screaming. If he was not pot bellied and fat like a pig, you would dress him in a green suit and call him Hulk. Not really Hulk's size but at least his little brother's if Marvel will ever create one.
Of course Morgan was not much scared for his father who was a kung-fu master had taught him some. But he was a little scared because it had been long since his father had died on his visit to China.
"Oooh!"
He punched the Hulk's face to shut him down, but the guy seemed unaffected. He instead seized Morgan in the air right above his head and threw him through the window screaming.
The fall was horrific and painful after hitting their Mercedes packed near the window. Still wiggling and unable to stand up to run, five silhouettes hovered over him. The moonlight was making his vision blurry but he could see a knife coming towards him.
"That's for killing my brother." Said Hulk as he stirred the knife in Morgan's belly.
Kellen crunched beside him and said, "Darling, thank you for all the millions in your account. It's a pity to die when nobody will remember you so we'll always remember you for that."
"And don't worry about your books being dropped!" Her brother added. "I'll keep updating them. Thanks for making me such a good name. Handsome Incubus sounds great to me."
"What were you thinking to call yourself handsome?" Jake's twin added, "Don't you know how ugly you are?"
Morgan could not believe he had no person to miss him. To mourn his death. He has hustled so that one day the world will know and appreciate him. He regretted his delay in doing so. If only he could have shown his face to his fans.
Hulk raised his knife in the air, but before he could stab him again, Morgan asked, "Can you grant me a last wish?" He then shifted his lustful gaze to Kellen.
She slapped him. "Don't even think about it! This mansion of yours is in the middle of the forest. No brothels. I can't allow an ugly creature like you to suck my milk pot."
Morgan smirked at her dirty mind. "It's not about my virginity. There's a novel I didn't finish. Only one chap remains." He wanted to reach his library. At least the gun there was automatic and full of bullets.
