Richard and Beatrice were startled. They remembered the incident all too well, the day when Edward was caught cheating on Beatrice, Arthur had tortured him with a whip until he was bloody and bruised.
Beatrice felt a sense of guilt and helplessness wash over her as she realized the gravity of the situation. She didn't know what to do, as it was indeed a great crime for someone to injure the royal family like that. So, she and her brother just kept silent, not wanting to make the situation worse.
The King that looked at them silently, had a glimpse of what happened and looked at Edward sternly. "And why, may I ask, have you been subjected to such treatment?" he asked.
Prince Edward hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Beatrice... Caught me cheating with Duchess Alicia," he admitted, his face turning red with shame.
The room fell silent, The King turned to her and spoke gently. "Lady Beatrice, do you have anything to say about this matter?"
