To activate Stanley's newly awakened power of Time Loop, he needed a massive amount of energy. Thanks to how much energy he had gained from the three Nova dying, this was not an issue.
Once Time Loop was activated, he needed to set up 3 conditions.
First: He needed to set the length of time he would be inside of this loop.
Second: He needed a fail condition.
Third: He needed a win condition.
After activating Time Loop, without reaching these certain conditions, even Stanley couldn't do anything himself. He, just like everyone else in there, was trapped as well.
So, he chose the best conditions he could.
The time of the loop would be exactly 10 minutes. No more, no less. When those 10 minutes were over, the loop would automatically restart.
10 minutes seemed few when looked at by itself, but it was still over 40 hours when one considered that he would be fighting in slowed-down time the entire time.
