The man tried to control the roots quickly, but while he could tell he was controlling them to move back up, he couldn't stop them from moving back down.
He could not understand what was happening.
"What is going on?" the woman cried to his side, and he was surprised to remember she existed. He looked toward where she was looking at and saw something that confused him beyond understanding.
For some reason, everything around them was moving quickly. The trees flapped around as though they were being whipped around by a tornado, the grass moved back and forth as though a hovercraft flew over them.
Even the clouds in the sky moved at a quick pace.
"Something is wrong," the man said out loud. "Everything is moving too quickly. This isn't right."
As soon as he realized that things weren't normal, everything returned back to normal.
