Chapter 7 - Unsealing the Casket

"Fire Fate Pome!" Mumbled Maron.

The soldier was shocked. "You know this? Thank goodness, this was the cause of his arrest. The news of him assaulting a civilian and damaging a bar associated with the Adventurer's Guild reached the ear of General Aino.

He and Commander Bahlol had bad blood, so he used this chance and interrogated the commander. During all of this, he found the Fire Fate Pome in his possession, which caused an uproar in the capital as many superiors immediately coveted it. But Bahlol denied their greed and said this was the property of the Midnight Suns and that only they had the right to eat it.

But of course, that wasn't enough for them, so a fight broke out. Bahlol was captured within the few minutes of resistance. He knew that something like this would likely happen, thus he switched the real pome with a fake one in advance. He carried it and gave me the real one to deliver to Blood Drunk Halberd.

"I *cough cough*" His throat hurt as he coughed.

"Easy, easy, take your time" said Maron.

Tufail filled a glass with water and offered it to the soldier. "Here, have some water."

The soldier slowly drank it and continued. "Thank you, I covertly left the capital to come here but happened to collide with a small band of bandits.

I fought through them and somehow managed to reach this city's territory, they didn't dare to chase me here. Thus, I came to the Soul Bar..." said the soldier with tearful eyes.

"Please, I beg you... save Commander, he is a good man. He doesn't deserve this." Urged the soldier as he sobbed.

Maron took the Fire Fate Pome and inquired. "Where is he now?"

"He is imprisoned in the capital. General Aino is a vicious man, he will use any means necessary to make the commander spill the beans.

The King has already issued a decree to get the Pome by any means, but General Aino has other plans. He can use Armament Will, so if he gets the Fire Fate Pome, he will be promoted to Great General or even join the Five Empire Alliance."

Tufail was biting his nails in apprehension before he noticed the gaze of Maron.

"I heard it all and will inform the Blood Drunk Halberd right away." He replied and left the room as Maron watched his leaving back with a side-eye before sighing.

The sun set as darkness enveloped the sky. Tufail sat on a hill, his gaze directed at the countless stars. "That stupid Baboon's ass, couldn't help but put me in a tight spot, now could he... Sigh, what should I do?"

He opened his hand and looked at his palm, covered with calluses. "No... the forgotten hero is dead, nothing can bring him back... Nothing!" He closed his hand into a fist, solidifying his decision.

The city was quiet while the majority of the citizens in deep slumber which is when a figure secretly and silently entered the Soul Bar. He carefully tilted the molded wine bottle and opened a path to the basement. The joints of the trapdoor were well greased, preventing any sound.

He carefully stepped down and stood in front of the casket, red coloured bandages and ropes covering it. He took them all off, revealing the casket's old age and rather crude build. His hands hesitated as he extended them towards the casket.

"Tsk, danm you Baboon's ass, I'll tear your ass apart after this." He was none other than Tufail Tigor. He gathered his courage and unsealed the casket, however, unlike the trapdoor, the casket was not greased.

"Oh shit, don't make noise you rickety bastard." He whispered as he looked upwards, trying to see if anyone heard anything. The coast was clear it seemed though, so he looked inside the casket, a long weapon placed in it, covered in black cloth.

"Been a while partner." Mumbled Tufail with a hint of nostalgia. That weapon was the very halberd that Bahlol was looking for, Claret. It vibrated before Tufail put his hand on it, but as soon as he did, it ceased, almost like it was itching to be used again after all this time.

"Pardon me for keeping you in darkness for 300 years. You know the terror we faced back then. I'll never forget how they turned their back on us, never..."

The halberd vibrated in agreement before Tufail continued. "However, we must show ourselves once more, just once.... A mistake of our old comrade is imprisoned by this weak-ass kingdom. For old times' sake, I have to help his son. Wanna help me, buddy?"

The halberd vibrated again. "Haha, that's my Claret. Now, let's go, before Maron gets wind of us. That ancient motherfucker is still hungry for battle."

Then, Tufail quickly placed the halberd on his back, wrapped in black cloth, as he left the basement in the same stealthy manner as he came. After which he left the main hall and bolted outside. When he reached a dark alley, however, he heard a raspy voice. "Hello, cap'."

"Aahhhhhhh! Ghost!" Tufail jumped in fear before looking at the source, his eyes widening as he smiled childishly. "Ma-Maron! Wh-what are you doing here? Weren't you sleeping?"

Maron calmly came forward, his eyes burning in fury as he asked. "That's the question I should be asking you, cap'. What are you doing here, with Claret on your back?"

Tufail became quiet for quite a while before answering. "I'm going to turn the capital upside down."

Maron's eyebrows twitched, and he clenched his hands as his body shook viciously whilst Tufail scratched his head as he muttered. "Fuck!"

"FINALLY!!! Thank you cap', I always knew that this time would eventually come. Just hang on a minute." Maron cried before he joyously zipped towards the Soul Bar.

Tufail glanced at Maron and cussed. "You fucking Baboon's ass, why didn't you eat that shitty pome and save us all this trouble. Change my name if I don't shove my halberd up your arse. Just you wait."

Within a minute, Maron came back before Tufail asked. "Where did you go?"

"To grab the money and..." A gigantic explosion resounded before Tufail looked in its direction and saw a destroyed two-story building, engulfed in flames. It was known as Soul Bar.

Only then did Maron complete his sentence. "And... to erase all traces of evidence."

"Haha, savage as always."

"Hoho, learnt that from you cap'. By the way, who were you calling Ancient Motherfucker in the basement?"

"Ehh, you heard that?"

"Mhm, you know that I am younger than you, aye cap?"

"Cut that bullshit, I'm not that old."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not."
