Ling Yue awoke in the dead of night, covered in a blanket near the campfire. The seer held her gently as he slept, with his head rested on hers.
The blanket was big enough for both of them, but it seemed the seer was mainly there to provide more warmth.
The seer opened his eyes due to Ling Yue twitching and shivering; her body was colder now, still than before somehow.
The seer increased his grip on her; he fueled the flames as they roared, but neither had an effect on her condition. She was as cold as the undead could be.
"Gosh, that was stupid of you," he sighed, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"It will go away," she replied.
This wasn't the first time something like this had happened to her; she had faced worse side effects more times.
The seer held on even tighter than before. It once again had no effect, but Ling Yue seemed to appreciate his worry for her. When the seer released his grip, Ling Yue held onto his still-topless torso.
